‘Think Like a Man Too’ is a sequel to 2012’s rom-com, ‘Think Like a Man.’ In the first film, the partners in each couple are segregated according to the archetypes mentioned in Steve Harvey’s book Act Like a Lady, ‘Think Like a Man.’

When the men realize their partners have been using the book’s advice to subtly manipulate their relationship, each couple breaks up. However, they all reconcile in the end.

Although the couple are together in ‘Think Like a Man Too’, they face several new obstacles in their relationship.

At Michael and Candace’s wedding, the couples visit the bachelorette parties and end up having a severely heated fight, which lands them in prison.

That night’s events jeopardize the wedding and test each couple to the core.

1. Michael and Candace

Candace is a single mother who thinks she’s hit a jackpot when she finds Michael because she thinks that Michael loves kids and will stick around.

However, Michael is the quintessential ‘Mama’s Boy’ as described in Harvey’s book. Candace realizes that she can’t tolerate Michael’s overbearing mother, Loretta, and breaks up with him.

However, this debacle teaches Michael to respect the boundaries of his girlfriend and maintain a distance from his mother.

He finally declares his love for Candace at a family reunion, sighting that she’s ‘the number one wiman in [his] life.’

In ‘Think Like a Man Too’, the couple decides to get married in Vegas. Unfortunately, Michael’s mom, Loretta, still thinks Candace is unfit for her son.

Amid all this, Michael overhears Loretta badmouth Candace during a fight, and demands her apology to Candace before uninviting her from the wedding.

In the end, Candace forces him to invite Loretta, and she apologizes for her misdeeds. Loretta also accepts Candace as her daughter-in-law.

The hotel staff arranges a night wedding for the couple, and they are able to get married by the end of Think Like a Man, too.

2. Jeremy and Kristen

In Think Like a Man, Jeremy is ‘The Non-Committer’ and Kristen is ‘The Girl Who Wants The Ring.’

Even after nine years of their relationship, Jeremy fails to pop the question to Kristen.

Therefore, Kristen decides to follow the book and tries to change the manchild inside him by forcing him to make paradigm-shifting ‘adult’ decisions.

For starters, she coerces him to find a serious job.

Initially, Jeremy is opposed to all the changes but eventually accepts them because he doesn’t want to lose Kristen.

By the end of Think Like a Man, Jeremy finally proposes to Kristen, who says yes!

Although their marriage isn’t shown, they get married sometime between ‘Think Like a Man’ and ‘Think Like a Man Too’. The sequel starts with them trying to have a baby.

Kristen puts Jeremy on a strict schedule to increase the chances of conception. However, she fears becoming too controlling and tries to act carefree. Meanwhile, Jeremy is scared of being a father and having to grow up for real.

Eventually, Jeremy accepts the idea of being a father, and Kristen loosens her schedule. The sequel ends with Kristen missing her period and Jeremy comforting her by saying nothing will change after the pregnancy.

Although we don’t get a confirmation of the pregnancy, we can assume that Jeremy and Kristen are expecting a baby.

3. Dominic and Lauren

In Think Like a Man, Dominic is ‘The Dreamer’ who’s never followed any of the elaborate dreams he’s mapped for himself.

On the other hand, Lauren is ‘The Woman Who is On Her Own,’ and she treats every relationship as a business transaction.

Despite knowing Dominic is beyond her standards, Lauren continues to date him, but they eventually break up.

She eventually realizes that she doesn’t care about status or money and wants to be happy. Therefore, the two reconcile in the end.

In ‘Think Like a Man Too’, Lauren and Dominic get high-stake job offers in different parts of the country. Lauren is promoted to be the COO of her company in New York, while Dominic gets a sous chef job in a big-shot restaurant in Vegas. This jeopardizes their relationship as both struggle to balance their personal and professional lives.

Ultimately, Lauren turns down her job offer to stay in L.A. with Dominic, and they remain together by the end of ‘Think Like a Man Too’.

4. Zeke and Mya

In ‘Think Like a Man Too’, Mya implements the ’90 day rule,’ meaning she won’t have sex with a man before 90 days of them dating each other.

She starts dating Zeke, ‘The Player’, whose sole intention is to sleep with her. However, Mya breaks her 90-day rule when Zeke mistakenly says, ‘I love you,’ but soon dumps him when she realizes that everything was a ruse to sleep with her.

On the other hand, Zeke realizes that he actually has feelings for Mya and confides them in her. The two eventually end up together by the end of the sequel.

Things don’t go as smoothly as expected because Zeke finds adjusting to his first serious relationship difficult. His casanova-esque past haunts him, and Mya gets seriously disturbed when his friends refer to him as ‘Zeke the Freak.’

However, Zeke tries his best to show that he’s not his past self anymore and that he truly loves Mya. In a grand gesture, Zeke surprises everyone by proposing to Mya in Vegas.

Mya accepts his proposal and the couple are engaged by the end of the sequel.

5. Cedric and Gail

Cedric and Gail aren’t one of the four central couples in the two films, but Cedric is the unofficial ringleader and the narrator of the friends’ group.

In Think Like a Man, Cedric spends the entire film counting down the seconds until his divorce from Gail is finalized. However, when the moment arrives, Cedric realizes how much he misses Gail and starts hating his single lifestyle.

By the film’s end, Cedric informs Gail that he’s ‘coming home,’ and the two patch up.

In ‘Think Like a Man Too’, Cedric goes to Vegas to fulfill his best man duties while being on a one-month trail of separation from Gail.

We don’t know whether Cedric ends with Gail by the end of the sequel since they don’t appear together at all.

6. Bennett and Tish

Bennett is “The Happily Married Man” in the friends’ group. However, he and his wife Tish aren’t among the main couples in the group. In fact, Tish doesn’t show up in the first movie at all.

However, she does appear in Michael and Candace’s wedding and tags along with the girls at the bachelorette party.

Bennett and Tish are happily married by the end of the sequel.

Got the rare talent to binge an entire show in a single sitting just like that. Although a sucker for psychological thrillers, no bias for any genre when it comes to a good story. A living proof that Netflix and chill is not a myth!
