How to Upgrade Weapons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?

You must interact with The Curator to upgrade weapons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Unlock The Curator

So, you need to talk to The Curator then go back to Camp where you can upgrade your weapon. So, where is The Curator?

After defeating the Goblu boss in The Flying Waters, go to The Manor area. You can find The Curator here. 

This is a crucial part of the story so don’t worry about missing it.

Talk to The Curator. He will then offer you his services. Accept the offer and head back to Camp.

Upgrade Weapons at Camp

Let’s break down the process of upgrading a weapon in Expedition 33.

If you haven’t already done so, set up a Camp from The Continent map. 

Find The Curator in Camp and look for the ‘Upgrade Weapons’ option. Then, choose the weapon you wish to work on. You can also boost its Attributes like Luck, Agility, etc.

You will need a Chroma Catalyst. It will vary depending on the rarity. If you have chosen an advanced weapon, you will need an equally rare Catalyst. 

Chrome Catalysts can be found anywhere. You will also receive it as a reward for defeating enemies. If you don’t want to spend time looking for it, just go to a shop.

Keep in mind that you can only upgrade a weapon one level at a time. 

While upgrading weapons is not a must, some expeditions do require a certain level of weapons. If your weapon fails to fulfil the condition, you will be greeted with a message stating “Expedition Failed”.

So, better do it while you can!
