Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Episode 55: Release Date, Speculation

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai episode fifty-five, titled “Hadlar Versus Baran,” is the latest installment of the anime.

The episode had some hard-hitting moments between Dai and Baran. When Dai sacrifices himself to save Baran, the man can’t help with pause the battle and heal his son. He calls him Dino, which was the name he gave him.

The episode’s final moments show us a softer side of Baran as he takes on a tough exterior. Baran puts Dai to sleep with a spell and reminisces the time when Dai was a baby. He pictures himself trying to make a crying Dai sleep but is unable to. Finally, his wife gently puts Dai to sleep.

The episode will have a fierce fight between a furious Baran and Hadlar. Although Baran will defeat Hadlar, will he be able to contain the blast of the black core? We’ll find out in the next episode.

Episode 55 Speculation

The last episode revealed to us the ultimate Dragonoid form of Baran. With this powerful form unleashed, it is evident that Hadlar will not stand a chance against Baran.

The last scene showed us that although Hadlar was excited to fight against the Dragonoid form, his excitement is cut short as a blow from Baran is enough to shut him up.

In the next episode, we’ll know if Baran had to sacrifice himself to contain the blow of the black core or if he survives the blast.

Episode 55 of the Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai anime, titled “Black Core”, has been released on Friday, Oct 29, 2021.

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai is not on a break and will continue as per schedule. No such delay has been announced.

Episode 54 Recap

Episode 54 resumes the battle between the Dragon Knights and Hadlar, the royal guard. After realizing that Hadlar has a black core, Dai and Baran hold back on using their full powers.

Unaware of his black core, Hadlar asks them why they are holding back. The two realize that Hadlar does not know about his black core, and Dai tries to tell him in hopes of stopping their fight.

Baran stops him, saying that his master would detonate the bomb then and there if he knew. Hadlar starts becoming suspicious of their behavior, but Baran lies to him, telling him that they were merely assessing the extent of his new power. Baran then informs Dai that he is going to unleash his full power that will decapitate Hadlar then and there.

It will take a moment for Vearn to detonate the black core, hence giving Baran time to contain the blast in his Draconic Aura. Dai voices that it was a crazy idea, but Baran asks him to have trust in him. He asks Dai to get his friends out of there just in case. Baran tells Dai that if anything happens to him, Dai must go on and defeat King Vearn.

Finally, the battle between Baran and Hadlar commences. Hadlar gets excited seeing Baran’s power and comments on how impressive it was to fight with Baran’s ultimate blade, Gigabreak, and his Ultra Combustion Slash.

The first one to strike wins as they were equally equipped with strength. Baran punches Hadlar and strikes his blade at him but, it does not cut through him. Just then, Hadlar launches his attack at Baran, but Dai puts himself in front of Baran, taking the blow.

The battle pauses for a bit as Baran heals Dai. Hadlar is confused about why his head wasn’t decapitated since Baran’s strike was potent and fatal. At that moment, the Reaper reveals himself. Baran is shocked to see him since he slashed his body in half during a previous battle.

Reaper reveals that he cannot die and is an undying man. He then says that when Baran cut him in two, his acidic blood corroded his sword and made his blade blunt which is why it couldn’t cut through Baran.

After putting an unwilling Dai to sleep, he tells him to remember Dino, the name he and his wife gave him. As the climax approaches, Baran takes his Dragonoid form and punches right through his body.

About Dragon Quest: Dai no Daiboken (2020)

Dragon Quest is an anime and manga series based on the rpg video game of the same name.

The story features Dai, a boy living in the Dermline Islands and his quest of becoming a hero and realizing his powers and helping Princess Leona along the way.

The games were adapted into two major television series. Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai is the remake of the 1991 series which had 46 episodes in total.
