Dragon Quest Episode 58: Release Date, Speculation, Watch Online

Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai episode 57, titled “The Unlikely Savior,” is the latest installment of the anime.

Episode 57 kept us on edge. We find out that King Veran has been plotting to destroy the surface world for thousands of years. He and his subjects were sent to the underworld because humans were too weak in front of them.

Ever since his kingdom had drowned in darkness, Veran decided to destroy the world above him so that the sun would shine in his underworld.

Dai managed to hit Vearn and critically injure him, but it doesn’t seem like he’ll die this easily. How will Vearn rise from the ashes? Are Mystvearn and Killveran connected to their master? Keep watching to find out.

Episode 58 Speculation

The last episode unveiled King Vearn’s true intentions behind wanting to destroy the world. He says that the Gods banished the beings of the underworld because they were too powerful. Hence, they had to live below the ground in the darkness just because humans were too weak.

We also saw his overwhelming power that seemed undefeatable. As the episode ends, we see Dai fighting back again and seemingly burning him to a crisp.

The next episode will show us whether Vearn is dead or not. It is unlikely that King Vearn will die this easily even if he suffers too much damage, he could also use energy from Mystvearn and Killveran as they seem to be connected.

Also, the preview for episode 58 revealed that Vearn used a legendary weapon to attack Dai, so it seems improbable that he’s dead.

Episode 58 of the Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai anime has been released on Friday, Nov 19, 2021. The episode title or preview has not been shown.

Episode 57 Recap

Episode 58 begins with King Vearn giving Dai and the team a chance to fight him without any interference from Mystvearn and Killvearn. Dai tells him that they have every intention of fighting him even if the other two were involved.

Before beginning, Vearn pretends to care about Baran’s bravery and says that the fallen warrior should be given a proper farewell. He uses this as an opportunity to cast a Kafrizz spell and incinerates Baran’s body.

Enraged, Dai attacks Vearn, but the king pushes him back, making him unconscious. He casts the Kafrizz spell again, but Popp jumps in between to save him. As he holds off Vearn’s attack, he asks the others to heal Dai. Vearn attacks again and burns Popp’s clothes that are sewn with magic.

Vearn overhears them talking and tells them that his spell wasn’t Kafrizz but Frizz, a weaker one. Popp is astonished, but Vearn continues telling him that the strength of a spell depends on the caster’s strength, implying that his power is far greater than any of theirs.

Further, Vearn explains how he merely shot a little of his aura to match Dai’s attack. His presence is menacing, and Crocodine tells the others that they must fight as one. Vearn finally launches his Kafrizz spell, which takes the form of a phoenix.

Hyncel defends, giving Dai time to heal. After the second wave of Kafrizz, the team decides to go on the offense. Popp shoots him with his magical arrow, Medroa, which bounces back to him. Fortunately, he manages to stop it from hitting his friends.

Popp realizes that they can’t face King Vearn in their current condition, and they need to regroup. Hyuncel agrees, and they try to zoom out, but Vearn stops them. Vearn’s magic power shields the palace, and it is impossible to escape it with a zoom spell.

Maam tries to counter Vearn, but she’s no match for him. Vearn finally reveals his true intentions for wanting to destroy the surface world. He says that a long time ago, the Gods of heaven banished the underworld beings because they were too powerful. Humans were nothing in front of them.

This arrangement looks pretty unfair to Vearn because his kingdom has to live in the darkness just because humans are too weak. So, he takes it upon himself to destroy the surface world so that the sun can shine in the underworld. 

Just as everything is about to end, Dai wakes up and faces Vearn. Vearn is shocked but starts attacking. Soon, everyone is engulfed in their battle. As the episode ends, we see Dai attacking Vearn with his sword, and the Dark King’s body falls to the ground, burnt like a crisp.

Dragon Quest is an anime and manga series based on the rpg video game of the same name.

The story features Dai, a boy living in the Dermline Islands and his quest of becoming a hero and realizing his powers and helping Princess Leona along the way.

The games were adapted into two major television series. Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai is the remake of the 1991 series which had 46 episodes in total.
