In episode one, titled “take 01,” Shigure volunteered to be a sleeper at the Antarctic Front agencies to be a hero. After joining, he got assigned to Vera’s platoon and is ready for their mission.
Leslie gave Shigure a briefing about the Asylum. The platoon took down two Scarred creatures, and Shigure realized the Asylum is not how it’s portrayed in the news.

Episode 2 Discussion
Deep Insanity: the Lost Child series premiere, has hit the screens. Yet, the audience is skeptical about how the anime might develop further. I think we’ll have to wait and see what the anime will show as it just began.
So far, we know there is a disease spread, and an underground world with unknown creatures has been discovered. What will the characters find as they explore the Asylum? Is the Antarctic Front trying to use this new world, or is there some diabolical plan behind it all?
Nonetheless, I hope we find out what exactly is going on in the Asylum because so far, it’s just people dying, and no actual plot is laid out clearly. Let’s wait and see as the series develop even further.
Episode 2 Release Date
Episode 2 of the Deep Insanity the Lost Child anime, titled “take 02”, has been released on Wednesday, Oct 20, 2021.
I. Is Deep Insanity the Lost Child on Break This Week?
Episode two of Deep Insanity the Lost Child will be released as per schedule. No such delay has been announced.
Episode 1 Recap
Episode one starts with a group of sleepers finding out a missing comrade. Finding he’s dead, the sleepers get attacked by the comrade who turns into a Scarred. The sleepers try to retreat but get killed in the process.
Randolph Syndrome is a disease that appeared when discovering an underground world at the South Pole—filled with bizarre creatures not seen on earth. The discovery of the underground world named Asylum is unknown to the world and its threat to humanity.
Leslie and Vera walk along in the city and try to enjoy the day. A commercial for Antarctica Front is shown and mentions that it’s looking for new recruits for its program. Leslie finds out Vera requested more personnel for their team.
Later, Shigure volunteers for the program to be a sleeper. He mentions his purpose for joining is to be a hero. After the board members evaluate Shigure’s profile and discuss his overall skills, he is assigned to Vera’s platoon as she requested for new personnel.
Later we see the members of Vera’s platoon talking about the recruit. Jackson decides to welcome Shigure with a prank. As Shigure enters, he gets hit with a shot of confetti, knocking him out.
Shigure later wakes up in the hospital and gets acquainted with Leslie. Leslie explains to Shigure what the Antarctic Front does. Leslie then tells Shigure about the basic rules on being alive during their tasks.
Heading to the Asylum for their mission, Leslie and Shigure join Vera’s platoon. Entering the Asylum, Shigure is confused with the bizarre world, but Leslie tells Shigure it’s better to experience it firsthand.
While they go ahead, a mutated Scarred attacks them. They all get into formation to take it out. Shigure tries to understand the situation but the platoon attack and take out the Scarred.
Leslie then explains what they do in the Asylum, and only people with resistance to the disease last longer. Sumire mentions the other team is in trouble, and they need to help them out ASAP.
Shigure realizes the target is the recruit, who is now mutated into a Scarred. Leslie moves to take it down, but Shigure tells him he’ll handle this. Shigure attacks the Scarred and makes a strategy stop it.
The plan works, and Leslie made the final attack, taking out the Scarred. Leslie then mentions the last rule to Shigure. Processing and accepting the fear of death, which Shigure already did in the mission.
Later they get back to their dorm, and Shigure reintroduces himself to the team.
