Chapter 196 of Dandadan started with a shark attacking the plane. This punctured a huge on in the plane, and with air flowing out, the inside of the cabin lost pressure and the inside of the plane fell into literal havoc. Everyone clung to the seats for their dear life, and they put the oxygen mask on themselves according to Seiko’s instructions. Thankfully, this state was short-lived as Vamola enlarged herself and plugged the hole with her body.

After this, everyone strapped themselves into their seats and pondered how to escape their situation. Seiko could finally see Momo again, and realised that her medication was numbing her senses, but she couldn’t understand why a typhoon occurred in the middle of the summer. When Momo asked whether the god of Shimane was refusing them, as they carried some curses, Seiko told her that the god would accept anyone, so it’s another force that is causing the typhoon-shark attack.

Momo then took a look at the typhoon, saw the nose it had, and suggested that it was a “Typhoon Human”. She then went on to explain that Okarun, who is a huge geek about cryptids, told her about some research that suggested that the typhoon was a living creature, or a living cryptid. She raised the possibility that they were being attacked by the typhoon human like how the Serpo aliens attacked them with Nessie.

Right after she made this point, Jiji noticed that the plane was circling around and slowly lowering altitude, which made them think that the plane was going to make an emergency landing. Seiko said they couldn’t have that, as they only had that day to visit the shrine, after which the next opportunity would only come the next year, by which time Seiko may actually forget Momo. She then said the only way out was to defeat the typhoon, which sounded unrealistic, but according to her, typhoons have to obey natural laws, and all they have to do is find a loophole around it.

3. What To Expect In Chapter 196 of Dandadan?

Seiko’s elaborate plan to vanquish the typhoon is yet to be laid out. According to her, since the warm ocean water and water vapor are the components that keep the typhoon running, they’d just have to eliminate either one to terminate the typhoon. As for what she’d use for this, it was hinted that the sharks may have something to do with this.

By taking a wild guess, one could say that dropping the innumerable sharks in the sky into the ocean could drop the temperature of the ocean. This is based on the fact that Momo said the shark lodged in the plane was really cold. If they are extremely cold, then they may be the key to stopping the typhoon.
