Summary:

  • CD Projekt Red has announced that they will be releasing a free Update 2.1 for Cyberpunk 2077.
  • The Update 2.1 will be released alongside Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on December 5th.
  • More details on the Update will be revealed in a Twitch Live Stream on December 4th.

Even though it’s been nearly two years since the very troubled and buggy launch of Cyberpunk 2077, developers CD Projekt Red continue to provide updates.

Developers CD Projekt Red have announced that, along with the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, they will release a free Update 2.1 on December 5th. The new update will provide unique and anticipated gameplay elements.

It was mentioned in the same Tweet that CDPR Senior Community Managers Alicja Kozerah and Amelia Kolat will provide more information about the update. Details will be revealed in the Twitch LiveStream on December 4 at 7 AM PT.

The Ultimate Edition will include all the patches that made Cyberpunk 2077 the title that it is currently after a rather bumpy launch.

In addition to all the updates, the Ultimate Edition will include the latest Phantom Liberty Expansion/DLC. This is likely to be the final version of Cyberpunk 2077.

The Phantom Liberty DLC, which provided fresh air to Cyberpunk’s story mode, reworked the entire game from the bottom up to give a revamped character upgrade system and added the Dogtown, which is a hub of crimes.

Minor updates are coming occasionally, with the latest of the lot being Update 2.02, released in October. This update addressed balancing issues with vehicle contracts and gameplay-related issues with certain side quests.

While close to nothing is known about the update, the Twitch livestream will reveal the true nature of this update and shed some light on the future of Cyberpunk 2077 on December 4th, 2023.

About Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.

Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
