In Monster Hunter Wilds, your primary task is to hunt down monsters, as the title suggests. However, there’s much more to the game than just fighting; you’ll encounter a variety of side quests and tasks that require you to engage in different activities.
One of the early quests you’ll receive from Kanya involves finding Goldenfish. These Goldenfish are one of the many types of aquatic creatures you can catch and utilize during your adventures.
1. Where to find Goldenfish in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Players can find Goldenfish in the following locations in Monster Hunter Wilds-
- Area 8 of Scarlet Forest
- Area 14 of Windward Plain
The Scarlet Forest is a great place to fish for Goldenfish. To find one, go deep into the Scarlet Forest, specifically northeast of Area 8.
When you arrive, head towards the waterfall in the northeast. Go through the waterfall to find a cave, which you must enter. You can also set up a camp if you want. Stand at the edge of the rocks, and you will see several Goldenfish and Platinumfish swimming around.
You can visit the cave northeast of the Oasis in the Windward Plains while you wait for the stock at Scarlet Forest to replenish. Inside the cave, find the diving area to reach a pool where you can catch a few more.
The Iceshard Cliffs and Oilwell Basin are other options, but we recommend fishing at Scarlet Forest.
2. How to catch Goldenfish in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Players can catch Goldenfish using a Fishing Rod or a Capture Net. Using a Capture Net is faster, but be careful not to miss your chance, as the fish can escape if you do. If that happens, you must wait for it to spawn again.
You can also use the Golden Bughead, the only bait for catching Goldenfish. You can get the Golden Bughead bait from Kanya at the start of the Seeking the Goldenfish mission.
