Episode 6 Recap
Horikita follows Sudou once he leaves the field after deciding not to play anymore. He advises her to stop trying to convince her that he will rejoin the team for the school festival because he is adamant about not rejoining.
The same applies to Horikita, who also refuses to accept his decision. He tells her that he will return and that she will wait for him in the elevator.
The ground is where Ayanokouji is lying. As a practice partner, he asks Kushida to work with him. Ayanokouji finally confronts her while she is tying their legs together for running practice.
If she hadn’t provided them with critical inside information, they wouldn’t have been able to outplay them and come up with a counterplan. Kushida tries to trick him into thinking he understands the whole situation by acting innocent.
As he explains one aspect of her plan after another, it becomes increasingly apparent that she won’t be able to conceal her role in helping Class C for long.
In the end, Kushida agrees with him as he presses her about everything. She will now target Horikita since she doesn’t give a reason for wanting him expelled.
A few hours later, the festival’s last games begin. As Sudou is persuaded to participate again, Horikita appears to have given Class D a fresh lease of life.
Ayanokouji wins the final race by the tiniest of margins despite his best efforts. Despite Class D’s poor performance on the overall list, Ayanokouji is satisfied since he predicts that such a result will ultimately benefit his class.
At an isolated place on the school grounds, Horikita meets Kushida and Ryuuen after the school festival. After no time has passed, she asks Kushida to finally confess and acknowledge that she helped class D lose behind the scenes.
Kushida still acts innocent and claims that she didn’t provide Ryuuen with any inside information and didn’t work with him.
Her betrayal allowed Class C to succeed, whereas Class D was doomed even before it began. Horikita has had enough by now and points out that Class C only grew because of her betrayal.
To open up, she tells how Kushida reminds her of a student she knew in middle school. After realizing Horikita’s truth (like Ayanokouji), Kushida recognizes Horikita is attempting to get her expelled along with Ayanokouji.
Horikita, who knows her intentions, remains calm in the face of her confession. She was threatened to be hunted down by Kushida if she ever attempted to expose her. Ryuu also admits that he had instructed Kikyo to get a list of participants of Class D so that he could place players so that victory was guaranteed.
Additionally, he gives Horikita another shock by admitting he asked Kinoshita to withdraw from the festival by pretending to be in pain. As Horikita has patiently and calmly listened to everything he has said so far, she reveals that she is recording everything he has said.
According to Ryuuen, he explicitly mentions that he will entertain her delusion before revealing his plan.
As a result, he can claim that he never really accepted anything. Despite Horikita’s argument, Ryuuen reveals he had been recording the entire conversation and could get her into trouble if she didn’t edit the audio. Seeing Ryuuen cornering her, Horikita gives up. A call interrupts Ryuuen’s plan to manipulate her.
A traitor in Class C has also assisted someone in Class D in gathering audio evidence against Ryuuen.
In this scenario, Ryuuen can’t do much to Horikita since he has evidence that can be used against him by the student from Class D pulling the strings. As such, Ryuuen cannot manipulate Horikita even though he outsmarts her.
