In episode eight, titled “Your Name/Reminiscence,” Mirei was told Danji would be replaced as her chauffeur, but she didn’t like the decision. Haruka told Danji how he’s irresponsible and should act like an adult.
Danji took Mirei to the festival to meet Yu-yu and the gang. Mirei told Danji about how her brother took her to a festival when she was younger. At the festival, Mirei got startled and had a mental breakdown.
Mirei understood Danji was her brother and made a fuss about her struggles. Danji was told to leave everything and choose her. In the end, Mirei stated she’d destroy Blackout.

Episode 9 Discussion
Danji faces his sister’s trauma and gets caught up in her decision to take down team Blackout. It’s clear due to Mirei being raised in a closed environment, she feels neglected. Danji now sees the consequences of leaving the Minae family.
Mirei was misled and lied to, making her not trust anymore. What will Danji do for Mirei to understand the effect of her actions? Is Haruka going to use this opportunity to bring down team Blackout for good?
Megumi and Haruka face off next to settle some dispute among the teams. I hope Mirei and Daybreak will be put in their place about playing Vanguard.

Episode 8 Recap
This episode starts with Danji and Mirei heading back to their hotel. On reaching, Haruka tries to console Mirei but understands she’s on edge. The next day, Haruka mentions how Danji will be replaced as her chauffeur, but Mirei says he hasn’t done anything.
Mirei then states he’s not like the others, but Haruka feels Mirei is still not in her senses after the incident. As Haruka heads out, she meets Danji, and she states Danji hasn’t changed and is irresponsible while trying to be kind.
Later Mirei, looking for Danji, walks around. She gets confronted by staff and gets startled. Danji appears and calms her down. He then takes her to the festival as Yu-yu and the gang promised to meet. Mirei tells him she’s doubtful they’ll show up.
As they walk, Mirei mentions her time with her brother. She remembered how her brother closed her ears as she got agitated by the noise. She mentions how she could hear his heartbeat with light roars. As they make it to the gate, Tohya, Yu-yu, and Megumi are seen waiting.
Danji apologizes for yesterday’s turn of events and is happy they are here. Tohya then mentions a quote about festivals being a day to forget the sufferings of life. He then says, being allies or enemies doesn’t matter as they’re at the festival.
They then visit the festival site and check around the events. Yu-yu walks with Mirei telling her about the food stalls and if she needs anything. Mirei then hears how Danji is having fun, and Yu-yu mentions how he’s been like a big brother with team Blackout.
With that, Mirei gets another mental shift thinking they were having fun without her. She then trips due to the crowd. Yu-yu tries to help her, but she gets annoyed and tells him to give Danji back. The fireworks go off, and this startles Mirei.
She has a mental breakdown and thinks she’s alone in the end. Danji sees Mirei is troubled and covers her ears. As Mirei calms down, she recognizes the familiar sound. She asks if Danji is her big brother, and he nervously lets her know.
Mirei then asks who all knew he’s alive, and Danji says only Haruka. She thinks it’s a lie, and he’s back to take her family away from her. Danji says that’s not why, and Mirei gets hysterical. She mentions how she’s suffered in his place as the successor in the Minae family.
Mirei throws a tantrum saying she did all this and was lied to about her brother. She says that, with Danji running away, she was very alone. Danji then hugs Mirei, but she shouts to let her go. She mentions how she’s alone and has no one she can trust.
Danji then tells Mirei he’ll be on her side, but she doesn’t believe him. He pleads her to trust him and because will not leave again. With that, Mirei states he should abandon Danji Momoyama’s life with Blackout, his friends, and teammates and choose only her.
Danji gets baffled by the request, and Mirei calls him by his real name. Tohya, Yu-yu, and Megumi then meet up and ask Danji if everything is alright. Mirei tells them not to address him like that, for he’s her big brother Nadatsugu Minae.
She then dramatically mentions she’s the leader of Daybreak and asks them to state who they are. As Yu-yu states they’re part of Blackout, Mirei says she’s going to destroy Blackout. Danji and the rest are astonished by her words.
