Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III open beta Battle Rage perk nerfed

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s release is a month away, on November 10th. The open beta is on for PlayStation users who pre-ordered the title.

Players have noted that developers Sledgehammer Games and Activision have quickly fixed the Battle Rage perk in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III that practically made the players invincible. As a result, they have shortened the perk to a max of 6 seconds, removed the ability of kills to increase the duration of effect, and incoming damage will now interrupt health regeneration.

The Battle Rage was a unique ability that had never been seen before in the CoD universe. It allows the character to huff a gas that makes them more vital for a brief period. The idea was to make the player more robust and not invincible.

However, at the launch of open-beta, Battle Rage made players invincible. The players complained that other players using this perk could heal after taking any damage for 10 seconds, practically granting them the ability to survive any fight.

Sledgehammer Games noted this and quickly responded to ensure that the Battle Rage remains a substantial perk but doesn’t make the player invincible.

Some players have already resorted to ill means to win multiplayer matches in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s multiplayer mode. Reportedly, some players with a PlayStation 4 Devkit.

These players are using hacks/cheats to gain an advantage over other players. Reportedly, this can be done only with the help of a devkit on the PlayStation 4.

With Sledgehammer Games taking prompt action on most fronts, it is expected that soon they will deploy means to weed out the cheaters to ensure that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, upon its release on November 10th, remains fair and enjoyable to all.
