Episode 5 of the Blue Period anime has been released on Saturday, Oct 23, 2021. The episode title or preview has not been shown.
The episode release dates for Blue Period can be confusing due to its early release in Japan compared to outside of Japan. Keep this in mind if you come across different release dates for the anime.

Episode 4 Recap
Episode four starts with Mrs. Ooba telling Yatora every famous artist has a great composition as their common dominator as he questions his artwork being superficial.
Mrs. Ooba explains the rules of composition in artwork and tells Yatora to make replicas by putting his heart into the work. Later Yatora meets Hashida and Yotasuke while going for his classes.
Entering the morning class, Yatora finds himself with more intimidating artists. Mrs. Ooba explains the work to be done, and everyone gets started. Yatora is taken aback when he sees others creating art differently.
Kuwana and Yatora grab lunch together during their break. Yatora realizes art is about freely creating than just the tools being used. Later the student’s artwork is ranked, and Yatora gets higher than he expected.
Going out to celebrate with Hashida and Yotasuke, Yatora learns that Yotasuke is quitting cram school. Yotasuke is frustrated because it’s all about ‘exam art’ and not about creating good art. Hashida explains ‘exam art’ helps get into a specific school you’ve applied to with an artwork.
Yatora questions if it’s all just for getting into art school than about the art itself at school. Mrs. Saeki says that even though it sounds like it, the art is still an individual’s work and suggests he visit Tokyo University of the Arts.
Yatora, along with his friends, visit Tokyo University of the Arts and explore around. As Yatora explores the campus, he finds Yotasuke as well. Later Yotasuke states that Yatora didn’t have to choose art when he was good at everything else.
Yatora gets upset by Yotasuke’s statement and mentions he’s worked hard to get better at art. Yatora’s friends find him upset, and Yatora tells them it wouldn’t be like this if his art were compelling.
In cram school, Yatora emotionally creates artwork, and Mrs. Ooba mentions how it bursts with emotions. Yatora is now more determined to get into Tokyo University of the Arts and asks Mrs. Ooba to teach him everything about art.
Later Yotasuke returns to collect his things, and Mrs. Ooba apologizes for not being of help for his artistic development. At the en,d Mrs. Ooba is excited to see how her students will change as an artist in the next 120 days with art.

The Blue Period manga is created by Tsubasa Yamaguchi and published by Kodansha. It was first serialized in Afternoon magazine in June 2017.
The Blue Period revolves around the life of Yataro Yaguchi, a highschool student. Yataro looks like a model student on the outside but fights with hollowness on the inside.
He is fascinated by a painting of the Art club and decides to take up art as a profession. His path is filled with obstacles, but he still expresses himself proudly with colors instead of words.
