Since the terrain is uneven, it makes placing Palboxes and facilities a bit tedious. You can place wood platforms to even out the surface and place your Palbox. Another solution would be to fast-travel to this location and mine the coal manually.
- Hillside (57, -528)
The dense woodlands located in the southwestern part of Hillside are perfect for mining ore as there are multiple ore nodes located there. Place your base there strategically, among the wild Pals, and mine resources to your heart’s content.
The other benefit this location has going for it is a Syndicate Base which is located near the area and is separated by a bridge so you don’t have to worry about being defenseless while mining resources.
- Twilight Dunes (-94, -119)
Located in the middle of Dumud and Digitoise habitats, where you can get easy access to high-quality Pal oil, the Twilight Dunes is teeming with resources, the major contributor being coal. Building a base here can be helpful as this location doesn’t have much scope for fast-travel.
At the heart of the Twilight Dunes are present hostile Pals which will be a threat to you and your Pals. Hence, it is recommended to build a strong base with traps and walls around the coal nodes and have high-level Pals with you to ward off enemies there.
- Windswept Plateau (230, -515)
The Windswept Plateau is one of the best locations when you’re starting early on in the game. This location has plenty of space for you to experiment with bases and facilities. Bases can be easily guarded as the rocks on the southern end and the cliffs on the north protect you from enemies.
The stone nodes and trees will provide you with a good number of early-game resources. The only downside to this base is that you cannot visit ore nodes, dungeons or Alpha Pals.
2. How to move bases in Palworld?
The fastest way to move bases in Palworld is by building a storage box next to a Palbox to fast-travel with infinite weight in Palworld. Upon reaching level 10, players can unlock 2 bases which they can use at two different locations, then fast-travel with all the materials from the first base to the second.
Additionally, you can unlock multiple Palboxes as you progress, making the process of moving bases much simpler and easier. You can alternatively dismantle everything, move the materials through fast-travel, move the Palbox then move back to shift bases. The Grappling Gun can be a useful tool to move heavy items from one place to another.
