Bandai Namco reveals “Master of Salmon” Kuma’s Gameplay from Tekken 8

Tekken 8 will be released on January 26th and fans can barely contain their excitement! As the launch date comes closer, developers Bandai Namco have been posting story trailers and character sneak peaks. It is safe to say that everyone is fiercely waiting to dive back into the fighting ring.

Bandai Namco recently posted a gameplay video of the Master of Salmon, Kuma in Tekken 8. The ferocious bear comes back with a revamped look, now donning a jean jacket and a red bandana. Apart from his new costume, his fighting style remains the same– brawny, short-ranged and steady attacks.

The trailer features a comical scene in which Kuma proposes to Panda, presenting her with a salmon. Unfortunately, he is turned down which leads to a savage duel between the two.

Kuma first appeared in Tekken 1, followed by Tekken 2. However, after his death due to old age, the bear was replaced by his son, Kuma 2. Even though Kuma is considered one of the weakest characters in Tekken, his amusing nature has earned a soft spot in everyone’s hearts.

Tekken 8 will feature 32 playable characters, out of which most are returning from previous entries in the franchise. However, three new characters will be introduced in the upcoming title– French Navy officer Victor Chevalier, MMA fighter Azucena Milagros Ortiz Castillo, and Reina, a mysterious woman associated with the Mishima family.

Bandai Namco also plans to add certain fighters in Tekken 8 who can only be acquired by purchasing DLC. According to leaks, Roger, Xiao Meng, Armor King, and Eddy Gordo would be included in the Year 1 Pass. However, the developers are yet to confirm this news.
