Original Storyline with Carl Hiaasen Flavor

Season 1 closely adapted Carl Hiaasen’s 2013 novel, weaving a tale of greed, corruption, and environmental chaos triggered by a severed arm found in the Florida Keys.

With that story wrapped up, Season 2 will not directly adapt Hiaasen’s sequel novel Razor Girl, as previously rumored.

Instead, showrunner Bill Lawrence has revealed that the writers are crafting an original storyline inspired by Hiaasen’s signature style, expect biting satire, bizarre crimes, and eccentric new characters.
