‘Assassin’s Creed’ to Release a ‘Where’s Waldo’ Book of Its Own

The action-adventure games series Assassin’s Creed is getting condensed into the pages of a fun new book, as the series is bringing its catch on the “search and find” idea famous in the Where’s Waldo? puzzle books.

Assassin’s Creed fan channel AccessTheAnimus noticed on Twitter a post about a new ‘spot-the-character’ book. The book is available on the merchandise site Forbidden Planet for pre-order.

Named Where’s the Assassin?, the book will be a hardcover published by Titan. Its premise is simple—Spot the assassins across eras and continents—very similar to the popular Where’s Waldo? series by Martin Hanford.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any peeks at the various hide-and-seek assassin scenes on the store page. A quick Google search doesn’t seem to show the book available for pre-order elsewhere, but we can derive an idea from its cover art. The illustration shows a Viking-era scene from the stealth game series’ latest entry Valhalla, packed with folk amongst which we can guess there’ll be Eivor hiding out.

However, Eivor can be either male or female in the game which will also feature quite a bit of customization (different armor sets, hairstyles, and tattoos). It’ll be exciting to see which version of Valhalla’s hero will be hiding out.

The store page portrayal also gives us an idea of which scenes we’ll see: “With beautiful, intricate, original illustrations spanning over 2000 years of history, search for 13 iconic assassins through the ages and across the world”. The book is due to release on September 7 and is presently priced at £7.19.

About Assassin’s Creed (Book)

Assassin’s Creed is an action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the first installment in the Assassin’s Creed series. The game was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November 2007 and was made available on Microsoft Windows in April 2008.

The plot is set in a fictional history of real-world events and follows the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control.

The plot of the game is now being turned into a Where’s Wally-style puzzle book, set for release in September 2021.
