Assassin’s Creed Mirage new update includes Full Synchronization Challenge

Summary

  • Assassin’s Creed Mirage has received a surprise new update.
  • This update, bearing version 1.0.7, brings the Full Synchronization Mode, aka the Permadeath mode, to the game.
  • In this mode, any activity that desynchronizes Basim permanently ends the save game, and players must start afresh.

It has been a while since the release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. This title marked the revisit for the Assassin’s Creed franchise to its roots of stealth, pace, and short but parkour-based gameplay.

Developers Ubisoft Bordeaux have dropped a surprise update for Assassin’s Creed Mirage that brings the “Full Synchronisation Challenge” to the title. The game mode had been announced earlier with no exact release date.

The Full Synchronisation Mode is a ruthless mode that gives no chances and takes no prisoners. In this mode, players will face permanent death due to their actions.

This means that any actions that can cause desynchronization from the Animus, like killing citizens or dying in the game, would mean permanently deleting the saved game. The players have to start all over again right from the beginning.

The unforgiving mode is a fan favorite, given that the game’s veterans like to take it up a notch, especially concerning the smaller titles.

In December, after Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s launch, the player count had reduced by about 80% since the launch. This was attributed primarily to the fact that Mirage is not replayable.

Even though it had a small but gripping storyline with stunning visuals of 9th-century Baghdad and revamped gameplay focusing on stealth and vertical movement, the title remained unplayable.

The developers announced the New Game Plus and the Permadeath mode to make the title more replayable and keep the fans playing this title for longer.

As a part of the Full Synchronization Challenge, cross-progression and cloud save features will be disabled to ensure total immersion and zero recoverability.

Once Basim dies in the game in this mode, there will be statistics of the gameplay time, total number of conflicts, cause of death, number of enemies killed, assassin rank, and difficulty chosen to play.

This makes things quite interesting as in the lawless land of Assassin’s Creed, the disorder is sure to ensue, and players must survive it till the end in AC: Mirage’s new mode, which promises to provide a challenge.

About Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft. The game is the thirteenth primary installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the successor to 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. While its historical timeframe precedes that of Valhalla, its modern-day framing story succeeds Valhalla’s own.

Set in 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age—in particular during the Anarchy at Samarra—the story follows Basim Ibn Ishaq (a character first introduced in Valhalla), a street thief who joins the Hidden Ones to fight for peace and liberty against the Order of the Ancients,[b] who desire peace through control. The main narrative focuses on Basim’s internal struggle between his duties as a Hidden One and his desire to uncover his mysterious past.
