‘A Business Proposal’ Trailer Teases a Chaebol Comic Love Story

SBS’ upcoming office romance, A Business Proposal, is another chaebol (massive business-conglomerate) heir love story packed with fun and hidden identity games.

On February 9, SBS released a trailer for the show starring Ahn Hyo-seop as chaebol heir Kang Tae-mu and Kim Se-jeong as a food researcher Shin Ha-ri.

The trailer introduces the two leads and the chalk and cheese difference between their worlds.

Kang Tae-mu makes a savvy entry, slicking his hair back, walking around like a boss at the airport, attending a grand launch, and more. His grandfather, Kang Da-goo (Lee Deok-hwa), serves as the president of their food company.

As Kang Tae-mu says that he has never failed any project, his grandfather hands him a book, assigning him “a critical project.” The booklet has “List of dating candidates” embossed on it.            

On the other hand, Shin Ha-ri is introduced as carefree, clumsy, but great at acting. At the request of her friend, who asks her to “show her amazing performance just one more time,” Shin Ha-ri agrees to go on a blind date.

Things go sideways when she realizes the guy on the other side is her company’s CEO – Kang Tae-mu.

Then starts Shin Ha-ri’s attempts to hide her real identity as she is seen hiding from the CEO, switching her ordinary appearance to a more fashionable appearance.

It looks like all goes well as the trailer ends on Kang Tae-mu and Shin ha-ri on a yacht, with the former extending a hand towards her and confessing, “The one I want to marry is you.”

A Business Proposal is adapted from a popular web novel of the same name. Due to changes in the filming schedule, the show’s premiere date was delayed.

The office rom-com will now premiere on February 28, 10 PM KST, and will be available for streaming on Netflix.

About A Business Proposal

A Business Proposal is an upcoming South Korean drama adapted from a popular web novel titled The Office Blind Date by HaeHwa. It’s written by Han Sul-hee and Hong Bo-hee. The series is helmed by Park Sun-ho. 

The office rom-com stars Ahn Hyo-seop (Lovers of the Red Sky), Kim Se-jeong (The Uncanny Counter), Kim Min-kyu (Queen: Love and War) and Seol In-ah (Mr. Queen). 

The drama revolves around Shin Ha-ri who is forced by her friend to go on a blind date on her place and to get rejected. Things turn upside down when the date turns out to be her CEO, Kang Tae-mu – who starts liking her. 

A Business Proposal will premiere on February 18 at 10 PM KST. It will later be available to stream on Netflix in select regions only.
