MHA ended in August last year with a bang, but it left us with a series of questions. Just how strong are The Big 3? Who is Overhaul? When is the new season gonna come back?!
Let’s see what info and updates for the next season of Haikyuu is available so far.
1. Release Date and Trailer
The first episode of the fourth installment of the MHA franchise is set to release on Saturday, 12th October 2019. The name of the first episode will be based on the new villain -- Overhaul. Funimation released the official trailer two months ago and even though it is just over a minute long, it tells a lot about the franchise.
My Hero Academia will also be releasing a movie this winter before the upcoming season. The movie is titled Heroes Rising. Get the full updates at MHA Heroes Rising Movie Updates.
The trailer starts with the current problems of there being no ray of hope due to All Might‘s retirement. There is mistrust, unease, and many other feelings in human society. Funimation proves MHA’s supremacy when they show Mirio, Todoroki, Bakugo, and Midoriya Izuku ready to fight, setting the optimistic and heroic tone in the trailer. It follows the upcoming adventures of our heroes and their internships with Provisional Hero License, and a mysterious girl Eri whom Midoriya is trying to protect.
“If you wear that costume and go out into the world, we are heroes!”Izuku Midoriya
It gives us goosebumps when Midoriya says about being a hero, at the perfect moment. The Big 3 and Overhaul are also featured in the trailer ready to pack a powerful punch against each other. All in all, the trailer itself is a piece of perfection, and we cannot wait to see the entire season!
The new trailer is just amazing! For starters, Deku’s words moved our hearts. It has been confirmed that the Mirio, Big 3 will be joining Deku during their Pro Hero Internships. The trailer was more focused on the upcoming No 1 villian Chisaki aka Overhaul and gave hints for the connection between him and that mysterious girl.
2. New Characters -- Heroes, Villians, and Others
Many new characters have been introduced through the trailer and the season 3 finale of Boku no Hero Academia.
The finale reveals a new villain -- Overhaul. In terms of anime, there is nothing known about Overhaul. But one thing that we know for sure is that he is a badass and crossing his path is something not everybody should be doing.
We see in the trailer that Izuku Midoriya aka Deku is trying to protect a little girl who is supposed to be “the key.” Very little is known about this girl from the trailer, but it seems that she is going to be the reason for the showdown of Season 4 of Boku No Hero Academia.
SPOILER ALERT: According to the Shonen Jump manga, Eri is a powerful quirk user with the ability to rewind a person’s body. She can even rewind the body to the person’s childhood when he didn’t have his quirk in the first place. Overhaul uses her and experiments upon her to create an anti-quirk serum.
New TV Promo
MHA’s new season is set to debut in a matter of days now, and UA Academy is celebrating it with an all-new TV spot featuring out favorite Izuku Midoriya.
The season finale showed us the Big 3 of the UA High School. Aizawa calls three third-year students to explain the Provisional Hero Licenses to class 1-A. Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki, aka The Big 3 are the mightiest student heroes who stand above everyone else in terms of sheer strength.
We are introduced to two new professional heroes. First, The BMI Hero: Fatgum who has the quirk ‘Fat Absorption’ which lets him absorb the attacks from the enemies. He then uses it to enhance his offense and defense. Fatgum takes Kirishima and Amajiki(The Big 3) as interns during the Internship Arc. The second hero is the much-awaited one — the former sidekick of the strongest hero All Might, Sir Nighteye. Sir Nighteye possesses the quirk ‘Foresight’ which lets him see the near future.
3. The Plot of Season 4
The plot for the upcoming season will be just as the fans anticipated. It will be of 24 episodes long and will cover the events of ‘Internship Arc’ and later. Season 4 will have the most engaging plot of MHA so far. Our favorite heroes will be getting more screen-time and the new OP heroes and villains are undergoing character development for the future.
One day while patrolling, Deku crosses paths with a mysterious girl, Eri. Deku decides to keep her safe, which is probably the reason for all the fighting in the upcoming season. This season will also answer the questions -- why Overhaul is the most terrifying villain of all time and how he became what he is today?
4. The Big 3
The Big 3 are the three strongest third-years of UA High School. All three of them, Tamaki Amajiki, Nejire Hado, and Mirio Togata were introduced in the season 3 finale by Aizawa. They came to explain the concept of Provisional Licenses to Class 1-A.
Mirio decides to put them through the internship in a more practical and hands-on way and challenges the entire class 1-A. Even though Bakugo and Todoroki do not participate, the class shows its strength to the best of their abilities. But the fact that Mirio beats all of them single-handedly, he says that Shoto and Bakugo’s addition wouldn’t have made a difference anyway.
Mirio’s quirk is Permeation, which lets him control his body pass through the ground, walls, and objects at will. Nejire Hado’s quirk is Wave Motion, which enables her to convert her energy into shockwaves. Amajiki’s quirk is Manifest, which grants him the ability to reproduce the characteristics of anything he eats.
Kai Chisaki aka Overhaul was also introduced in the season 3 finale and is supposedly the main villain for Season 4 of the franchise. Not much is revealed about him except that he is very sanitary conscious and is sickened by the idea of being sick. His past and story are yet to be shown, but the way he enters Shigaraki’s lair shows that he is a total badass.
Overhaul’s ability allows him to assemble and disassemble anything he touches. This allows him to explode body parts or the whole body by disassembling the atoms and this is also useful to heal injuries.
It is believed that Overhaul, as a villain is respected by All for One and his relationship with Deku, will be the same as One for All v All for One.
The Plot of My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia or Boku no Hero Academia is the story of a quirkless boy Izuku Midoriya and how he back the greatest hero alive. MHA is a dream-come-true world where being a hero is as common as a doctor or an engineer if you have your Hero License! It is a world where 8 out of 10 children are born with a supernatural ability known as quirks. Midoriya, a boy who has been admiring heroes and their ventures since the day he was born, came into this world without a quirk. After seeing his mother broken after she could not fulfill Midoriya’s wish of having a quirk, Izuku has always been optimistic. On one fateful day, he meets All Might the greatest hero of all time and discovers that he was quirkless as well. With his diligent attitude and unwavering spirit about being a hero, Midoriya manages to impress All Might and is chosen to be the heir to the power of One for All. Upon inheriting, he gets access to all the abilities of the No 1 hero. The story follows his adventures as he joins the most excellent hero academy -- UA High School and manages to enroll himself in class 1-A. He along with his childhood rival Bakugo and the son of No 2 Hero Endeavor strives to defeat villains and become strong.
