No Prehistoric event in Grow a Garden would be complete without the powerful Amber mutation, and now there are three versions to aim for.

If you’re hoping for life to “find a way” in your garden, here’s how to unlock each type and what kind of value boosts you can expect.

1. How to Get the Amber Mutation in Grow a Garden Roblox?

The Amber mutation is one of the most powerful crop mutations in Grow a Garden, introduced with the Prehistoric update. To unlock it, players can either use the Raptor dinosaur pet or craft a gear item called the Amber Mutation Spray.

When a crop has the Amber mutation, you’ll see it outlined in a dark yellow box or rectangle; its exact shape depends on the size and type of the crop. This mutation significantly boosts your profits by applying a 10x multiplier to the affected crop.

i. How to Get the Base Amber Mutation with Raptor Pet?

The Raptor is a dinosaur pet that passively grants a small chance (about 2%) for a crop to gain the Amber Mutation upon harvest. Raptors are hatched from Dinosaur Eggs, which can be earned in several ways during the event:

• Craft Dinosaur Eggs by talking to Graham at the event shop (center of the map).
  • Hand in any unwanted pets to activate the DNA chamber, then wait 1 hour.
  • While eggs are typically the result, using rarer pets may instantly provide a dinosaur.
• Eggs can also be rewarded through event quests.
  • Speak to Blaire in the event store to track your daily and weekly quests.
  • Complete enough tasks for extra rewards.

Once you obtain a Dinosaur Egg, it takes 4 hours and 10 minutes to hatch. There’s a 35% chance it will hatch into a Raptor, making it the most common dinosaur pet.

It provides two passive abilities:

• Clever Claws: 2%–2.5% chance for fruit to receive the Amber mutation when harvested (rarer plants have lower chances).
• Raptor Dance: Grants a 14%–14.5% movement speed boost to your character.

ii. How to Get the Base Amber Mutation with the Amber Mutation Spray?

If you’d rather not leave it to chance, the Amber Mutation Spray lets you directly apply the Amber Mutation to any eligible crop.

Obtaining the Mutation Spray Amber is the best method to apply the mutation, but it doesn’t come cheap. Here’s what you’ll need to craft one:

• 1x Cleaning Spray – Available for purchase from the Gear Shop for 15 million Sheckles. This is the most expensive and rare component.
• 1x Dinosaur Egg – Obtainable through Graham or event quests as described above.
• 1 million Sheckles – Required as part of the crafting cost.

Once you’ve gathered all the required materials, head to the Prehistoric crafting station in the center of the map and follow these steps:

• Go to the gear crafting station next to the Blaire NPC and press E to interact.
• From the recipe list, choose Amber Mutation Spray.
• Press the Craft button and submit the required ingredients by pressing E again.
• Wait 60 minutes for crafting to complete, or spend 39 Robux to skip the timer.
• Once done, press E to collect your spray—it will be added directly to your backpack.

Additionally, you can earn the Amber Mutation Spray by completing Prehistoric quests, either as a quest reward or through the weekly prize pool.

Note:  The Mutation Spray Amber can only be used once per spray, so if you want to mutate more crops, you’ll need to gather the resources and craft additional sprays.

iii. Which is the Best Method?

While the Raptor pet can passively apply the mutation, its chance is relatively low, only around 2–2.5%. This makes the Amber Mutation Spray the only guaranteed method to secure this powerful boost.

To maximize your chances and profits, it’s best to use both methods: rely on the Raptor’s passive ability and craft the spray whenever possible. This approach ensures you don’t miss out on the mutation and helps you stay ahead.

Crafting the Amber Mutation Spray also helps you complete Prehistoric event quests that require gear crafting. This not only progresses your weekly prize meter, boosting your odds of earning rare items like the Bone Blossom, but also makes your crafting efforts more rewarding overall.

2. How to Get Old Amber and Ancient Amber Mutations in Grow a Garden Roblox?

• Old Amber (x20 Multiplier) – After 24 hours, any crop with the base Amber mutation will automatically age into Old Amber, doubling its multiplier to x20.
• Ancient Amber (x50 Multiplier) – After more time has passed, Old Amber will evolve into Ancient Amber, offering a massive x50 multiplier.

Tips for Managing Mutated Crops

• Do not harvest crops immediately if you’re aiming for the higher-tier mutations.
