Asmongold Finds His Toothless Twin in Netflix’s Devil May Cry And the Internet Can’t Unsee It

It’s not every day you see your animated double on screen, but that’s exactly what happened to Twitch streamer Asmongold. After fans pointed out a character in Netflix’s new Devil May Cry anime that looked exactly like him, the internet, and Asmon himself, had a field day with the comparison.

The Internet’s Favorite Streamer Meets His Anime Doppelganger

Twitch star Asmongold is no stranger to internet jokes, but even he was caught off guard when fans pointed out his uncanny resemblance to a character in Netflix’s new Devil May Cry anime.

The character? A conspiracy-spewing radio host with a white shirt, scraggly beard, and, yep, missing teeth in just the right spots.

Streamer Reacts to Anime Lookalike on Twitch

During an April 9 stream, Asmongold watched a clip shared by a Redditor, showing the Devil May Cry character in action. His reaction said it all:

“It’s kind of crazy that he’s wearing a white shirt… same beard… missing teeth. That is very, very interesting.”

The character rants about demon invasions and corrupt media, familiar territory for anyone who’s tuned in to one of Asmon’s more opinionated streams. “Everyone else is laughing at him and calling him stupid but it turns out he was actually right about everything,” Asmon added. “It’s crazy the level of accuracy this is.”

Showrunner Confirms the Easter Egg

Fans were already joking that the character was “Asmon in the multiverse,” but things got even more real when Devil May Cry showrunner Adi Shankar essentially confirmed the resemblance on Twitter.

Posting side-by-side comparisons, Shankar praised Asmongold’s ability to “spit facts” and hinted that the character was directly inspired by the streamer. In his words:

They laughed at you and worshipped the late-night talk show puppets who were built to distract them from the truth. Now the terrorist demons from hell are here!!! Keep spitting facts — truth has a resonance.

The Scene That Sparked the Comparison

Despite all the buzz, Asmongold wasn’t officially part of the production. The character appears in a scene about political tensions, hosting a radio show while characters listen from their cars, a scene that feels oddly grounded for a demon-hunting anime.

Still, the nod to Asmongold has fans giggling, with many saying Netflix should go ahead and make it official for Season 2.

Fans Are All in on the Anime Crossover

Whether it’s yelling at raid groups or yelling at hellspawn, the energy is the same. And while not everyone sees the resemblance beyond the teeth and shirt, one thing’s clear: the internet has found its newest favorite crossover.

So if you spot a conspiracy-theorizing anime dude in a crusty tee next time you’re binging Devil May Cry, just know, somewhere, Asmon is probably reacting to it live.

About Devil May Cry

Dante will be central to Devil May Cry, with the destiny of the universe resting heavily on his shoulders.

Sinister powers are making unrelenting efforts to open the portal between the human and demon realms, posing a significant threat to humanity. The orphaned demon hunter is in the heart of this chaos, blissfully oblivious of his pivotal role in the unfolding conflict.
