Zombie Land Saga makes the most out of a band of undead girls. The seven-membered girl group consists entirely of girls who have been brought back to life by Necromancy.
The highlight of the first season was one of the girls coming out as transgender. Transgender representation is so rare that the portrayal of the character was highly praised. Ending with a cliffhanger, the anime left fans hungering for more.
Zombie Land Saga’s official website released a new promotional video at midnight of 1st January to announce the anime’s upcoming season2. Zombieland Saga Revenge will debut in April 2021.
The trailer shows the enthusiasm of the members of the Franchouchou band. Each of the members are introduced along with the details of their past lives.
A new visual of Franchouchou was also released. The visual is illustrated by Kasumi Fukagawa, the character designer of the anime.
The key visual expresses the full fighting spirit of Franchouchou. The background scene reminds us of the end of the world.
Mamoru Miyano, the voice actor of Kotaro Tatsumi, revealed a new video on 28th December. He hinted at the upcoming season of Zombie Land Saga. He dressed up as Kotaro and delivered his message with a lot of zest.
Munehisa Sakai directed the first season of the anime. The staff and cast from season 1 are reprising their roles.
The second season will premiere on Tokyo MX, AT-X, and some other broadcasting channels in Japan. Amazon Prime and Abema will stream the anime exclusively in Japan before its television debut.
About Zombie Land Saga
Zombie Land Saga is an original TV animation produced by the joint collaboration between MAPPA, Avex Pictures, and Cygames. Season 1 of the anime made in 2018 ran for 12 episodes and also paved way for a manga series.
The story is about Sakura and how her dream of becoming an idol soon comes to an end after being hit by a truck.
Finding herself in an unknown world, she later comes to know that she was resurrected as a zombie by a man named Koutarou.
His aim is to build an idol group including Sakura and other six zombie girls that he revived in the land of Saga. Coming to accept reality, she begins her new life as an idol in the group known as Frank Chouchou.
Season 2 of Zombie Land Saga titled Zombie Land Saga Revenge has been announced.
