The latest episode of Wind Breaker Season 2 doesn’t seem to have progressed much from the previous episode, as Sakura still seems hung up on what happened after the incident with KEEL. Episode 4 of the anime featured Sakura’s friends, Nirei and Suou, visiting his home when he had a fever, which was a pretty good way to affirm their friendship. 2. WIND BREAKER Season 2 Episode 4 Recap
The latest episode of Wind Breaker Season 2 started with Sakura’s friends at school discussing Sakura’s absence from class. Nirei called Sakura out of concern to know his situation, and from a very quick interaction, he guessed that Sakura likely had a cold, but wasn’t willing to let others know. Out of the class’s collective concern, Suou and Nirei were sent to Sakura’s home to check on him. This was when they discovered that Sakura lived alone in a really run-down apartment.
Nirei was really worried seeing Sakura in his weakened condition, and was very concerned about how he didn’t have anyone to look after him. Sakura, on the other hand, was very opposed to receiving help, as this experience was nothing new, and the sickness would pass after he rested. When Suou caught a hint of Sakura’s discomfort with actively receiving help, he left Sakura’s place with Nirei. He told Nirei that Sakura doesn’t know how to handle compassion from others, and that it would only be suffocating for him.
Nirei could accept this, but felt frustrated for not being of help to Sakura. While they were discussing this, they came across Hasegawa, who had learnt about the situation from the boys. Later that night, Hasegawa went to visit Sakura with dinner. After talking to him, she understood that Sakura was worried sick about the incident with KEEL, to the point that he actually fell sick. Hsegawa offered him the very simple solution of depending on others, as it makes everyone’s lives easier, but Sakura couldn’t entirely process this.
After feeling somewhat moved after his conversation with Hasegawa, he realised that he would have to depend on others at times. The next day, he went to school to meet Kaji to understand how he could depend so much on his peers and seniors. Interestingly enough, Kaji managed to break down a pretty sensitive problem in a way Sakura could understand, and explained to him that his reluctance to rely on others was rooted in fear of others rejecting him.
He then went on to say that Sakura completely assumes that others do not accept him, when in actuality, his friends never cared about what Sakura was capable of. They cared about Sakura as a person, and his being ignorant of this is what hinders his ability to rely on others. His interaction with Kaji helped clear his mind a lot. Umemiya was also eavesdropping on this conversation, and when Kaji learnt this, he punched Umemiya and embarrassedly rushed away.
3. What To Expect In Episode 5 of Wind Breaker Season 2?
Thanks to Kaji’s pep talk, Sakura finally found the courage to face his friends who were still willing to support him at all costs. In the upcoming episode of WIND BREAKER season 2, we will likely see where Sakura’s insecurity comes from and how he became the timid and secluded person he is now.
We will also get to see Sakura face his classmates and express his true feelings. We can expect a fight to break out, which can also work in Sakura’s favor as some messages can also be conveyed through fist fights, and this has also been a theme in the previous season of the anime.
