Will Yuta appear in season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen? In which arc will he enter?

After his debut in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta Okkotsu has acquired quite a name for himself. The sweet boy with an all-consuming curse is definitely the latest eye candy for JJK fans.

Now that the anime’s second season is rolling around, fans have a singular question in mind: Will Yuta Okkotsu appear in season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen?

So, without further ado, let’s break down the various arcs of the anime as well as the scattered hints to figure out whether Yuta will show up in season 2, in 2023, or if we have to wait another year to see him on screen.

Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen adapted the first five arcs of the manga, consisting of 64 chapters. In the 24 episodes, the production staff made sure to cover the story without leaving out any major action.

The anime’s upcoming second season will likely cover “Gojo’s Past Arc” and the “Shibuya Incident Arc.” The latter itself is a gargantuan arc of 58 chapters, and combined with “Gojo’s Past Arc,” it totals 73 chapters. These two arcs can easily fill up another 24 episodes.

Now, the issue is that Yuta Okkotsu never appeared in the manga before “Itadori’s Examination Arc” which succeeds the Shibuya Incident. It is a short arc with just seven chapters and might be compressed into one or two episodes.

The staff members have not given any hint on the matter, nor have any trailers been released to clarify it. Our only hope is a statement by Yuta’s voice actor, Megumi Ogata.

On the official website of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Ogata had a featured comment: “I am looking forward to seeing you again as Yuta Okkotsu.” Does this mean the character will return in the second season?

Yuta Okkotsu will appear in season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen only if the Itadori’s Examination Arc is adapted. Megumi Ogata’s comment, coupled with the character’s popularity, is a strong indication of Yuta’s return.

Another possibility is introducing Yuta during the Shibuya massacre. The anime is not known for diverting from the manga, so this isn’t very likely to occur.

I hope you are ready for the extreme ups and downs of season 2 because soon, the curses are going to get crazier than ever.
