It’s been a while since Shinobi no Ittoki premiered, and we’re already eight episodes into the series. Since it is an original anime, there’s no way of knowing what will happen next and all we can do is speculate based on what we know.
The protagonist Ittoki’s life changed overnight when he was attacked by ninjas and learned of his heritage as the leader of the Iga Ninja Clan.
However, fans’ most burning question regarding Shinobi no Ittoki is whether Ittoki will get stronger as the story progresses. Will he become worthy of being the Iga leader like his father, or will he give it all up to someone else?
Sakuraba Ittoki will get much stronger and more mature as a formidable Iga ninja in Shinobi no Ittoki. While his growth thus far has been stunted, previous episodes indicate Ittoki’s dormant potential as a ninja, which will be honed in due time.
For instance, Ittoki managed to ward off some of the most refined and powerful Koga ninjas during his entrance exam in episode 2. Despite being a novice with little to no training, Ittoki achieved this with the help of Kosetsu and Tokisada.
Even at the academy, he could ace or at least complete challenging assignments with assistance and support from his friends Kirei and Ryoko.
The point is, if Ittoki can get out of so many life-threatening situations as a rookie, it means he’s a natural fighter gifted with good skills. Let’s not forget that his parents are exemplary ninjas and leaders, so I guess it just runs in the family.
Moreover, Ittoki will need to get stronger before anyone else since he is the next leader of the Iga clan and has to take up that role as soon as possible. The boy will need to work harder and faster than others in order to protect his people and family.
While I agree that Ittoki had mixed feelings about taking on such a responsibility, he is doing quite well after getting the hang of it. Considering how all this information was hidden from him his entire life, it’s honestly surprising how steady his progress has been going.
Previously, he was doubtful of his ability to be a ninja and believed himself to be weak. Ittoki’s lack of conviction would have eventually gotten him killed or thrown into hiding from the world, and nobody wants that.
He took up the responsibility only to save his mother from the burden and threat to her life. That was the first instance that solidified that he carries a leader’s heart and will and would do anything to protect his people.
What truly makes Ittoki stronger is the people around him, and a great leader is always made with many people supporting him.
So, in conclusion, I’d like to state again that Ittoki will grow stronger and become a formidable force in the coming episodes. It might not happen anytime soon, but you can expect it in the finale or upcoming seasons if the franchise decides to continue this saga.
