Why Did Milim Attack Carrion?

Although I cannot digest it, Tensura season 2 is over, and the eternal cycle of waiting for another season has already begun but there is a spin-off airing so it makes the situation a little better.

The franchise really knows how to trigger and trick its audience well. I am already losing my wits with the cliffhanger.

You cannot expect me to see Veldora getting a human form and be satisfied with his five-second scene. I need more Veldora Aniki and Rimuru interaction.

Leaving him aside, I’m even more upset by not getting answers to major questions like why in the world is Milim going on a rampage?!

Okay, I agree that she is whimsical but enough to wage war on fellow demon lord? Absolutely not; something is definitely suspicious. Milim cannot possibly betray her friends, especially Rimuru, her self-proclaimed best friend.

Since I was itching to know the answers, I went ahead and did some research. Here is the reason why Milim declared war.

Clayman is the real mastermind behind Milim’s attack on Demon Lord Carrion. He has been controlling her and using her as a pawn to take actions despite her will.

1.   How Is Clayman Controlling Milim?

Clayman is a power-hungry man, and to attain the leading position, he will do anything, even steal people’s hearts to bind them into slave-like contracts. Truly the ultimate scum.

He has a unique skill called Puppeteer that controls people and makes them into his marionette. He is basically your pokemon master, but his pokemons have no free will of their own whatsoever.

For his world domination plans to be successful, he needed somebody who is overpowered, and no one is better than a half-dragon Milim. Clayman always wanted a Demon Lord puppet, and by brainwashing Milim, he got one.

Obviously, Milim willingly won’t form a contract with him, so Clayman uses his scheming brain to use the orb of domination on Milim given to him by Kazaream, his previous creator and master to control her.

2. Will Milim Betray Rimuru?

She has been following Clayman’s orders as Milim is under his control. Since Clayman plans to become a True Demon Lord, he needs a sacrifice of several thousand souls.

As his plan to overthrow the Tempest Kingdom and the Falmuth Kingdom failed, he made a backup plan by destroying the Beast Kingdom.

It was an everyday task for our walking talking nuke Milim, so he planted her to destroy Beast Kingdom Eurazania to finish off Demon Lord Carrion at the same time.

Under his control, she destroyed the Tempest’s allied Kingdom completely. It makes me wonder if she will attack the Tempest Kingdom as well, and whether we will see the top 10 anime betrayals in TenSura.

However, something suspicious is going on behind the scenes; if she were brainwashed completely, Milim wouldn’t willingly warn them of her attack in advance.

I believe she still has her sanity left, and the manga has hinted that Milim is not under control. So betraying Rimuru is out of the question.

3. Is Milim Really Under Clayman’s Control?

Clayman is a speck of dust if we compare Milim’s raw power to him even Rimuru didn’t give him that much importance and let Shion fight him.

He cannot possibly control her, but there are instances in the manga where Clayman has slapped Milim, and she didn’t even react.

I was utterly pissed with how Clayman treated my girl Milim like a fool, and you can imagine everyone else’s horror. So I further went ahead and read the Banquet arc of the web novel.

And oh boy, I was certainly not expecting Milim to pull that card.

4.  Why Didn’t Clayman’s Power Work on Milim?

Although his puppeteer skills were quite impressive, it wouldn’t work on the mother of all dragons- Millim. The reason for this is her ultimate skill.

The wielders of ultimate skills cannot be affected by any low-tier or even high-tier magic. The complex idea behind these ultimate skills goes beyond the rules of magic.

Clayman’s magic traps its victim’s soul and dominates it, and for a soul to be under complete domination, it needs to be inherently weak.

A weak soul will never acquire ultimate skills, to begin with, so in simple terms, Clayman was getting haughty without even achieving anything.

Milim deliberately blew off Carion’s entire town to make it seem like she was dancing on Clayman’s whims. She never betrayed Rimuru nor her friends; in fact, it’s her way of helping them.

She made her plans when Clayman came to her with his preposterous plans to use humans to attack the Tempest Kingdom.

She couldn’t just sit back and watch her precious friend’s beloved home getting destroyed, so she decided to infiltrate the enemy.

While all the others were in the darkness, only Frey knew of her plans and was a part of it. All of the demon lords knew something was suspicious all along; if not, Clayman wouldn’t dare treat her that way.

Guy Crimson was the only person to make out Milim was outright trolling them. Since Guy is the type who enjoys watching the drama unfold, he sat behind observing while munching on his popcorn while Rimuru snapped and destroyed Clayman.

I literally cannot wait for the banquet arc to get animated just to see Clayturd being smacked right on his face.

6. About That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime

That Time I Got Reincarnated as Slime is a Japanese manga series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah. It was serialized online in 2013 but was later shifted to Micro Magazine as a light novel in 2014. It currently has 21 volumes.

The story of Tensei Shitara Slime follows the journey of Satoru Mikami after he died and reincarnated as a slime in fantasy land. A slime is a creature that reproduces the form and powers of anything that it absorbs or eats.

Satoru starts eating all the magical herbs and crystals in the cave he woke up in and stumbles upon a dragon who had been captured and couldn’t move due to a barrier. Since both of them had nothing else to do, they befriend each other. The dragon accidentally makes Satoru a named monster, and Satoru promises him that he’d find a way to break the barrier. Hence, an unknown journey begins with this unusual friendship.
