Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, revealed in an interview a few years ago that the year 2016 would revolve around Sanji, thus coining the term “The Year of Sanji.”
Throughout the year, we found out more and more about Sanji’s horrific backstory. We saw Sanji being physically abused by his father and siblings for being a weakling.
It took some time, but the tables turned (on a literal table) when Sanji was the one who saved his family from certain death.
After witnessing the powers of Sanji’s siblings during the Whole Cake Island arc, heated debates began amongst the One Piece community, about the power scaling inside of the Vinsmoke Family. So here is an article containing the entire breakdown of the Vinsmoke Family’s power scaling.
In the Vinsmoke Family, Sanji (with his Raid Suit) is undoubtedly the strongest member. He has proven his power by defeating several strong opponents, and his strength has only gone up after his training with Emporio Ivankov.
Other than this, we have seen him go toe to toe against Judge when Judge had his Raid Suit, and Sanji didn’t.
The Vinsmoke Family
The Vinsmoke Family, led by Vinsmoke Judge, rules over the kingdom of Germa. Judge aims to rule over the entirety of North Blue one day. To make his dream come true, he used his scientific prowess and performed genetic mutations on his pregnant wife.
Reiju, Ichiji, Niji & Yonji turned out just as he wanted – emotionless and abnormally strong.
However, the modification did not work on Sanji, and he was treated as the family’s black sheep. He eventually ran away, and the rest is history.
The strength in the Vinsmoke family goes like this –
1Vinsmoke Sanji
Sanji is the cook for the Strawhat pirates. To keep his cooking hands safe, he mastered fighting with just his legs. We have seen his demonic powers through the use of his Diable Jambe.
Sanji has mastered flight using Soru and has access to Observation and Armament Haki. His Raid Suit, given to him by the Vinsmokes, not only enhances his physical abilities but also gives him the power to turn invisible on command. He is undoubtedly the strongest Vinsmoke.
2Vinsmoke Reiju
Reiju is the eldest child and only daughter of Vinsmoke Judge. She is the only Vinsmoke to have consumed a devil fruit, and an OP one at that.
Her devil fruit allows her to create and manipulate poison, giving her the name – Poison Pink. With her using her Raid Suit, coupled with her genetic mutations and her devil fruit, she is 100% worthy of #2.
3Vinsmoke Judge
The King of the Germa Kingdom, Vinsmoke Judge, is strong and has vast scientific prowess. He is the creator of these Raid Suits, and of course, he has one too.
Despite having no genetic mutations, he was able to go toe to toe against Sanji. He even managed to block Sanji’s Diable Jambe attacks with relative ease. He fights using an electric spear and has many gadgets that he employs in battle with ease.
4Vinsmoke Ichiji
Ichiji is the eldest son of the Vinsmoke Family. His body is genetically modified to be much stronger than average (thanks to Judge). Ichiji possesses an ability that has given him the name Sparking Red.
He can release blasts of potent light energy from his hands, which pierce through his opponents. He can also unleash this energy when he punches to deal explosive blows that are plenty powerful.
5Vinsmoke Niji
Niji is the Judge’s second son. His body is genetically modified to be much stronger than average. Niji is highly proficient with a sword, overpowering Sanji several times in his youth.
Niji possesses an ability that has given him the name Dengeki Blue. Similar to Electro, Niji can electrify parts of his body to deal with substantial damage to his opponents. He is possibly the strongest Vinsmoke and is even capable of bypassing Sanji’s Observation Haki.
6Vinsmoke Yonji
Yonji is the youngest son of the Vinsmoke Family. His body is genetically modified to be much stronger than average. Yonji’s bodily modifications have given him the title Winch Green.
He wears a device on his right forearm that acts as a winch, allowing him to extend his hand with a cable to grab faraway objects and opponents. His hand possesses immense punching and gripping strength. He is definitely the weakest, as he was beaten off-camera by Sanji.
Raid Suits
Raid Suits are special, technologically-enhanced outfits designed for combat. They were developed in the Germa Kingdom, and are exclusively utilized by its royal family and military commanders, the Vinsmoke Family.
They are stored in small canisters and can be equipped with the click of a button. Each member of the Vinsmoke Family has a special Raid Suit catered to their fighting style.
Other than that, the Raid Suits protects them from fire, bullets, and strong blows. It also provides them with jet-propelled boots.
