What’s Coming to Netflix in July 2020, Complete Guide

It’s already been six months since this eventful year began. Can you even believe it? I sure can’t. If not for the wonderful guys at Netflix and other streaming platforms, we couldn’t have managed it this far.

Anyway, we are almost in July 2020 and here is a list of everything coming to Netflix in the upcoming month. There are films, documentaries, and TV series all set for release throughout the month. As usual, the first day is the one with the longest list.

While this may only be a preliminary list, it sure is necessary to keep you going, especially if you were disappointed by the June releases. (Yes Netflix, we haven’t forgotten The Last Days of American Crime)

Before anything else, there is a short list of TBDs.

  • Cursed (Season 1) – Fantasy series starring Katherine Langford.
  • Street Food: Latin America (Season 1) – Docu-series exploring the cuisine of Latin America.
  • The Seven Deadly Sins (Season 4) – Anime series is expected to arrive in July.
  • Wizards: Tales of Arcadia (Season 1) – The final entry in the Tales of Arcadia trilogy.

July 1 – Wednesday

Films

  • Anne Frank – Parallel Stories (2019) – Helen Mirren narrates various stories of women who survived the Nazi holocaust.
  • A Thousand Words (2012) – Eddie Murphy comedy. Enough said. Watch it!
  • Killing Hasselhoff (2017) – Ken Jeoung and David himself star in this comedy about a nightclub owner resorting to desperate measures in order to pay off a loan shark.
  • Patriots Day (2016) – Follow Mark Wahlberg as a Boston police officer active during the Boston Marathon Bomber.
  • Red Riding Hood (2011) – A horror retelling of the classic kids tale The Little Red Riding Hood, starring Amanda Seyfried.
  • Sucker Punch (2011) – This poorly rated flick follows a girl as she heads into an alternative reality.
  • The Town (2010) – Oscar-nominated movie from Ben Affleck starring himself, Rebecca Hall and Jon Hamm, the film follows the planning of a new job by a notorious thief.
  • Under the Riccione Sun (2020) – The Netflix original is an Italian romantic teen drama. Okay, Italian is now officially my third language! 
  • Winchester (2018) – Helen Mirren stars in this biopic of the firearm heiress Sarah Winchester. We like you, Mirren, but aren’t scared of you, not in this one, no!

TV Series

  • Abby Hatcher (Season 1) – Animated kids series (32 episodes) about a young girl and her fuzzy friend heading out on adventures.
  • A Touch of Green (Season 1) – Taiwanese war drama series are telling the story of pilots and their families in WW2.
  • Chico Bon Bon: Monkey with a Tool Belt (Season Two) N – More animated adventures with the clever monkey.
  • Cleo & Cuquin (Season 1) – Kids animated series.
  • Unsolved Mysteries (Season 15) N – A reboot of the classic series where it looks into several unsolved cases. Produced by the same team behind Stranger Things.

July 3 – Friday

Films

Desperados (2020) – The Netflix original comedy, starring Anna Camp, follows a panicked woman who rushes to Mexico to try and delete a ranting email she sent to her new boyfriend.

TV Series

  • Cable Girls (Season 5B) – The final episodes of the Spanish period drama series about phone operators in Madrid out on July 3.
  • JU-ON: Origins (Season 1) – Here is the rebooted version of the 1988 The Grudge series in a serialized Japanese format.
  • The Baby-Sitters Club (Season 1) – Reboot of the classic children series.

July 4 – Saturday

Hook (Season 1) – After getting dropped from an elite program, a student gets tangled in the affairs of a high school gang while trying to find her own identity in this Thai drama.

July 5 – Sunday

The Underclass (Season 1) – Weekly K-drama high school drama.

July 7 – Tuesday

Films

How Do You Know (2010) – After the thrilling Little Fires Everywhere, revisit the good ol’ charming Reese Witherspoon along with Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson, and Jack Nicholson in this ensemble rom-com.

July 8 – Wednesday

TV Series/Documentary

  • Mucho Mucho Amor: The Legend of Walter Mercado (2020) – This Netflix documentary is based on the well-known Puerto Rican television personality.
  • Stateless (Limited Series) – This latest Australian limited series stars Yvonne Strahovski about a detention center.

July 9 – Thursday

Japan Sinks 2020 (Season 1) – Just what we needed in a year as dreadful as 2020, an anime series following families post-earthquakes.

July 10 – Friday

Films

The Old Guard (2020) – The Netflix original will have some big action laid out for the summer with Charlize Theron headlining the film.

Hello Ninja (Season 3) – More adventures with Wesley and Georgie in this animated children series.

July 19 – Sunday

The Last Dance (Limited Series) – The long-awaited ESPN docu-series on the Chicago Bulls during the 80s and 90s featuring Michael Jordan is going straight to my reminder list. You should put it too.

July 24 – Friday

The Kissing Booth 2 (2020) – The sequel to yet another over-simplified and, at times, unbelievable in its reality but wildly successful teen romantic comedy.

July 31 – Friday

The Umbrella Academy (Season 2) – The long-awaited second season of the superhero series, The Umbrella Academy.
