Warner Bros Wants JJ Abrams For Superman or Green Lantern

DC Comics and Warner Bros. have limited success in bringing their iconic characters to the big screen. The failure of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League altered the future of the DC movies drastically. Man of Steel 2 and Justice League sequels never happened, The Green Lantern reboot from 2019 was totally forgotten.

The last few films have from DC like Wonder Woman, Shazam, and the latest Joker movie have seen a different fate, fortunately.

Warner Bros. wants J.J. Abrams to helm Superman Or Green Lantern moviesBoth the characters haven’t been on screen in a while, and WB Studios wants Abrams to consider one of the projects.

According to Variety, Warner Bros. is discussing a potential Superman movie with J.J. Abrams. Whether it will be a reboot or a sequel with Henry Cavill remains hidden. Recently, Henry Cavill stated that Superman’s cape still belongs to him, but there is no official confirmation from WB. Variety also revealed that Michael B. Jordan was briefly courted as a new Superman so who it actually is, is anyone’s guess.

The report also discusses the future of the Green Lantern movie currently being written by Geoff Johns. The report states that the script should be ready at the end of the year and could be presented to Abrams and his Bad Robot Productions for consideration. After the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, J.J Abrams will be jumping from Disney to Warner Bros.

JJ Abrams signed an exclusive new deal with Warner Bros and the Studio hopes to put him to work soon. The director has very successfully relaunched the Star Trek for Paramount Studios and Star Wars for Disney Studios. Based on that success, Warner Bros wants Abrams to bring the magic to the DC universe. To make this possible, DC is giving him full liberty in choosing the project he likes.

It is good to see Warner Bros. trusting their filmmakers. WB was criticized for controlling the making of Justice League live-action movie. The directors blamed WB for interfering too much. After the failure of the Justice League, it seems Studio learnt their lesson. We hope that things are decided soon and we can see some real action on the big screen again.
