The game is held in high regard among fans, and some even claim it to be the best Dragon Ball game ever. The game’s fighting system, character roster, visuals, story, and music were all highly praised. The only chink in its armor, though, is its online functionality.
The game was developed by Arc System Works and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It is based on the Dragon Ball franchise and was released for Play Station 4, Microsoft Xbox One, Windows, and Nintendo Switch in 2018.
It takes place sometime between the “Universe 6” and “Future Trunks” arcs of Dragon Ball Super. The game’s main antagonist is a human who is later transformed into an android by the Red Ribbon Army and goes by the name Android 21.
Her son was the model for Android 16. When she awakens, she resurrects Android 16. She then uses the Dragon Balls to revive Nappa, Ginyu Force, Frieza, and Cell.
After this, she seals the souls and powers of the strongest warriors of Earth. Android 21 and 16 then redevelop Dr.Gero’s linking system in which a human soul could possess and control warriors while providing them strength. Here the player is the human soul possessing the warriors.
There are 3 main Arcs in the game:
- Super Warrior Arc
- Enemy Warrior Arc
- Android 21 Arc
For those who aren’t familiar with the Dragon Ball Z Franchise:
Dragon Ball Z is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation. It is the sequel to Dragon Ball.
It adapts the latter 325 chapters of the original 519-chapter Dragon Ball manga series created by Akira Toriyama, which ran in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1988 to 1995.
Dragon Ball Z follows the adventures of the adult Goku who, along with his companions, defend the Earth against an assortment of villains ranging from intergalactic space fighters and conquerors to unnaturally powerful androids and near indestructible magical creatures.
About Dragon Ball Super
Dragon Ball Super came into serialization in June 2015, edited and illustrated by Akira Toriyama and his protege Toyotaru, respectively.
Dragon Ball Super takes the DB universe to another level by introducing the long asleep God of Destruction, Beerus. Beerus initially decides to decimate Earth but postpones his plans when he discovers the fantastic food he had never eaten and hopes to fight Super Saiyajin God one day.
The game just keeps improving day by day, and we hope that it stays this good.
