The report also shows a 19.4% increase in revenue from the same period last year.

According to the report the top spot in both Total Sales and Gross Profit was bagged by Naruto with Boruto hot on Naruto’s heels, coming second in both lists. This shows that the Uzumaki family has nothing to worry about these days.

TV Tokyo's Revenue Report: Should Boruto Start Worrying?

Fans of Naruto are definitely proud knowing that their favourite Ninja’s franchise is leading the anime network to a new dawn. And it is quite clear from the lists and line-ups that TV Tokyo is quite set for the time being as well as for years to come. As Naruto Uzumaki always says, Believe It!

Recently TV Tokyo has been having problems though, because the ongoing anime like Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and Black Clover not being able to produce new episodes. The main reason behind this is the lockdown restrictions because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Many new episodes are delayed and TV Tokyo is taking quite some blows because of the lack of new content.

This does merit worrying for Boruto. The fandom has a lot of mixed reviews on Boruto, most claiming that the plot is shallow and that the characters don’t evolve at all, are basically handed down powers which their parents worked so hard to earn.

Some fans even claim that Boruto is mostly filled with fillers and the canon arcs don’t really have the charm that Naruto had. And now to add to these the problems of lack of new content because of the pandemic.

Still even after the mixed reviews, the sales speak a different story. So does Boruto need to start worrying? We’ll leave it to the readers to decide.
