Season 1 of Tsurune was a feast for the eyes and soul. Naturally, fans prayed for a sequel with all their heart. After four years, the wish has come true, and Tsurune will receive a movie this summer.
The tale of Minato and his love for archery hasn’t ended yet, and I expect some spice in the movie. With the rivalry between Seiya and Shu still ongoing, now is the perfect time for Minato to pace his friends.
The upcoming film of Tsurune is titled “Tsurune The Movie: The Beginning Arrow,” and it will premiere in Japanese theaters on August 19.
You can reminisce about some of the sweetest moments from season 1 in the new trailer:
The movie’s plot has been kept under the wraps so far, but the title makes it look like the film might be a prequel.
Minato’s target-panic was never adequately explained in season 1, and I’m yet to catch up to how he got it. I hope that the movie takes us a bit back in time and shows us all the factors that contributed to Minato’s panic as well as Shu and Seiya’s past.
Most of the staff and cast members from the anime series will reprise their roles. I do not doubt that Kyoto Animation will put its best foot forward for this film.
Since KyoAni is making a comeback, I have high expectations for the studio, known for its mind-blowing animation. I hope that the upcoming Tsurune movie can make a place for itself in the hearts of fans.
Tsurune is a light novel by Kotoko Ayano which was adapted into an anime series by Kyoto Animation in 2018. As of 2022, three volumes have been published under Kyoto Animation’s KA Esuma Bunko imprint.
The plot revolves around Minato, a high schooler who has grown up loving archery but developed a sudden target panic. Yet, he is recruited into an archery club in high school and along with his team and instructor finds the true meaning behind his passion.
