With only a week left before the global premiere of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, I thought it might be a good idea to write down everything we know about the film to be better prepared. The 2023 film is due release next Friday, June 9, 2023, five years after Bumblebee rebooted the franchise.
The upcoming film will act as a prequel to the Michael Bay films, featuring the battle between the Autobots & Maximals and the Predacons & Terrorcons. The Autobots will face a new danger in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, though the antagonist is not exactly a new character. Before I get into the details, watch the film’s trailer below:
The 2023 film, directed by Steven Caple Jr., is based primarily on the Beast Wars storyline and is the seventh instalment in the franchise. The movie clocks in at a runtime of 1 hour and 57 minutes and will be set in 1994 in Brooklyn, New York.
Ex-military electronics expert Noah Diaz and artifact researcher Elena collide on a predestined path leading them to the side of Optimus and the Autobots, who prepare to protect Earth against the Unicorn’s arrival. Apart from this premise and the little the trailer discloses, much of the plot is being kept under wraps.
Despite not giving away the movie, the trailer packs quite a punch, and the director has promised great things from the new Transformers movie. We see Bumblebee, Mirage, Acree, and Optimus Primal in the trailer, which also shows us the being who poses the greatest threat to the planet and its protectors.
Scourge will be featured in the film as the leader of the Terrorcons, who will team up with the Predacons to wage war against the Autobots and the Maximals, but he’s not the one who poses the ultimate danger level. The film will also feature Unicorn, a planet sized Cybertronian who will wreak havoc at a catastrophic range of mass destruction.
The film stars Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, as well as the voice talents of Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, Liza Koshy, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Pete Davidson, Colman Domingo, Cristo Fernández, Tongayi Chirisa, and returning franchise regulars Peter Cullen, John DiMaggio, and David Sobolov.
Have you cleared your schedule and booked your tickets for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, releasing on June 9, 2023, in theaters worldwide? If not, this is your reminder to do that now! Stay tuned to Cine Dope for the latest news about this and more.
