In Boruto: New Generations, it has become more than evident that the new generation has surpassed the last one. With incredible training and a period of peace that allows exceptional talent to grow, we have been introduced to many powerful Shinobi’s.
In the Chunin exams, the strength of these members and their coordination with their teams were applaudable. However, since the exams were cut short, the winners were undecided. Which teams in Boruto are the strongest? Without further ado – read on to find out.
Team 40 is a shinobi team from Konohagakure, consisting of Enko Onikuma, Dōshu Goetsu, Tsuru Itoi, and an unknown team leader. The team participated in the Chūnin Exams, but failed the first task, resulting in their elimination.
After their original jōnin leader was incapacitated due to Enko’s uncontrolled technique, the team leader was replaced by Ibiki Morino.
Enko’s hidden possession-type summoning enables her to easily crush rocks. Along with the restraining power of the other two, this team can be troublesome to deal with.
Team 25 is a shinobi team from Konohagakure, consisting of Hōki Taketori, Hako Kuroi, Renga Kokubō, and an unknown jōnin.
Sai Yamanaka was later appointed as the team’s new leader when the team’s former leader was taken off duty due to disabilities.
He considers the genin’s abilities particularly suited for intelligence missions. With their exceptional physical strength, high intelligence, and control over puppets, this team is considered strong.

In the second round of the exams, Makinami’s team competed in a game of capture the flag against Team Konohamaru.
After their team protected their flag using genjutsu, the brothers approached the enemy flag, which was guarded by Boruto Uzumaki and his Shadow Clones. Defeating the clones, the three attempted to grab the flag.
Still, they were stopped and defeated by Boruto’s elemental attacks, during which Sarada Uchiha captured their flag, resulting in his team being disqualified. Their coordination and skill over shadow clones are applaudable.
Team 15 is a shinobi team from Konohagakure, led by Hanabi Hyūga, consisting of Sumire Kakei, Wasabi Izuno, and Namida Suzumeno.
When accompanied by Sumire’s water transformation techniques and Wasabi’s agility, Namida’s improved control over her sound ability make this a well-rounded team.
However, In the anime, after Sumire resigned from Team 15 to join the Scientific Ninja Weapons Team, she was replaced by Tsubaki Kurogane, making Team 15 the first official shinobi team to include a samurai.
The team participated in the Chūnin Exams, and although they were able to pass the first phase, they were eliminated in the second phase, having had their flag stolen from Team Yurui.
Team 5 is a shinobi team from Konohagakure, which is led by Udon Ise. Its members consist of Metal Lee, Denki Kaminarimon, and Iwabee Yuino. The team participated in the Chūnin Exams but were eliminated in the second round by Team Shinki.
This team is one with a lot of potentials. If the members get past the things that are holding them back, such as Metal’s nervousness, Iwabee’s impulsiveness, and Denki’s indecisiveness, this team could go very far.
The members are very talented as Metal could open subconsciously, the first gate. Iwabee, too is extremely proficient in all forms of techniques. Denki’s tactics could become a binding factor and improve the balance of the team.
This genin team from Kumogakure participates in the Chūnin Exams held in Konohagakure.
After progressing to the exams’ final stage, they are defeated by Team Konohamaru; Yurui is defeated by Boruto Uzumaki, Tarui by Sarada Uchiha, and Toroi by Mitsuki.
Yurui’s ability to trap his opponents in explosive gums when accompanied by the other two’s close-range attacks makes them a powerful team.
Team 10 is a Konohagakure team formed under the leadership of Moegi Kazamatsuri. The team comprises the 17th and most recent generation of the Ino–Shika–Chō trio: Inojin Yamanaka, Shikadai Nara, and Chōchō Akimichi.
The team takes part in the Chūnin Exams and advances to the final stage: Shikadai defeats both Yodo and Boruto (thanks to disqualification), while Inojin loses to Araya, and Chocho loses to Shinki. In the anime, only Shikadai is promoted to chūnin.
Team 10 is one of those teams that will only get stronger as they mature. Being a part of the Ino–Shika–Chō team, all members are learning cooperation ninjutsu techniques, synchronizing their respective hidden techniques. Their power will explosively increase as time goes by.
Team Shinki is a genin team from Sunagakure that consists of Shinki, the adopted child of the Fifth Kazekage Gaara, as well as two other Sunagakure shinobi, Araya and Yodo.
These three participated in the Chunin Exams held in Konohagakure. The team passed both the first and second exams, during where the team had an encounter with Metal Lee and his team.
During the third exam, Araya defeated Inojin Yamanaka, Shinki defeated Chocho Akimichi, while Yodo, however, was defeated by Shikadai Nara. Araya was then defeated by Sarada Uchiha, and Mitsuki relinquished his match to Shinki. In the last phase, Shinki decisively won against Sarada and the only lost later on when Boruto used the Shinobi Gauntlet.
This team is one of the strongest teams other than Team 7. Shinki’s control over his magnetic sand, his taijutsu and his puppeteer skills make him one of the strongest genin’s, praised even by the Kages. Araya’s sensitive hearing, when paired with her sound techniques and Yodo’s sword skills, makes this a team with highly destructive and strong powers.
Team 7 is a shinobi cell from Konohagakure, led by Konohamaru Sarutobi. Its members are Boruto Uzumaki, Mitsuki, and Sarada Uchiha.
Having completed enough missions to qualify for the Chūnin Exams, the team participated in the exams held in Konoha. Though the three genins made it to the finals, none of them were promoted as the venue was attacked by Momoshiki and Kinshiki Ōtsutsuki.
This team is by far the strongest team currently in the Boruto series. What makes this team stand apart from others is how well rounded they are. Sarada’s dojutsu, Mitsuki’s sage mode and accuracy over mid-range attacks and Boruto’s impeccable Taijutsu on top of his other skills, make this the most powerful team.
