Tokyo Revengers Ep 24 Explained: Why Did Kisaki Call Takemichi “Hero”?

All of Takemichi’s progress in the first season came undone in a single episode. If you are frustrated with Takemichi’s trusting nature, then we have something in common.

The moment Kisaki handed him the liquor after an “emotionally charged” monologue, I was screaming “DON’T DRINK IT” in my head.

Alas, both Takemichi and Chifuyu turned out to be way more naive than I had previously imagined. They fell for the oldest trick in the book.

Aside from the future position that Takemichi acquires, what surprised me the most was when Kisaki said “My hero” right before shooting Takemichi. Why would this messed-up guy call Takemichi a hero?

There is a possibility that Takemichi was considered a hero by Hina in the early days. Thus, Kisaki got influenced by it and wanted to overtake Takemichi in terms of power to prove his worth to Hina.

After more than a decade, when Kisaki sees how pathetic Takemichi is, he is disappointed and thinks he has chased all his life after a farce. This would also explain why he cried before killing Takemichi, who he should consider an enemy.

Another possibility stems from Ak-kun’s death scene in episode four. Ak-kun told Takemichi to save everyone before he jumped to his death. Kisaki had overheard this conversation. He might have put his faith in Takemichi for saving everyone too, including himself.

Other than Takemichi and Chifuyu’s death, Mikey and Draken are also nowhere to be seen. Apparently, Mikey had disappeared, and Draken was executed. There is no doubt that Kisaki is the mastermind behind these deeds.

Well, at least the glow-up of Takemichi’s gangmates was a pleasant thing to watch in this episode because everything else was geared towards a cliffhanger.

I don’t think Takemichi will be dying yet, but his escape will be tricky from this situation. All the more reason to watch season 2 then.

The story revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, who learned that Tokyo Manji Gang had killed his only ex-girlfriend from back in middle school. After learning about the incident, Takemichi was pushed from the railway platform.

Landing on the tracks, he closed his eyes, accepting his death, but when he opened his eyes, he had time-leaped 12 years into the past.
