Thor: Love & Thunder Updates

The absence of Lady Sif from Thor: Ragnarok was definitely a huge disappointment for her fans. She was one of the few good things from the first two Thor movies(the less said about them the better). Apparently her commitments to the show Blindspot prevented her from appearing in the third Thor movie.

Well, her fans can rejoice as we hear that Jaimie Alexander is returning to play Lady Sif on the big screen. According to We Got This Covered, (the guys who told us Black Mask will be gay in Birds of Prey and that Moon Knight was coming to the MCU, both of which turned out to be true), the actress will be reprising the role of Lady Sif for Thor: Love and Thunder, with the character set to help Jane and Valkyrie protect New Asgard.

Lady Sif last appeared in the Thor: The Dark World and in an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.l.D the same year.

Lady Sif in the MCU

Lady Sif is one of the best friends of Thor and the Warriors Three(Hela killed the Warriors Three in Thor: Ragnarok). Sif and her friends helped Thor during his exile on the Earth. They all fought against the Destroyer and helped Thor defeat Loki.

Later, along with her friends, Sif bravely fought against the Marauders, an intergalactic ragtag band of pirates who pillaged the unprotected realms of the universe. After the Second Dark Elf Conflict, she was sent to Earth where she captured Lorelei spectacularly. A year later, Sif returned to Earth again, this time to investigate the arrival of Vin-Tak who was hunting down the Inhumans.

She was one of the victims of Thanos infamous Snap and was resurrected along with others in 2023.

As we said earlier, she was not able to reprise her role in Ragnarock thanks to tight scheduling. Marvel head Kevin Feige also explained that Loki, while disguised as Odin – banished the hero from Asgard, as he was worried that she’d see through his ruse, which she probably would have.

The good news is she returning for the role in Thor: Love and Thunder along with Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and Natalie Portman on November 5th, 2021.
