After the finale of its first season ended on a bittersweet note as Duke confronted his mother and accepted her ultimatum. The critically acclaimed anime’s production committee has already greenlit its sequel.
The official website for Koharu Inoue’s ‘The Duke of Death and His Maid’ anime released a new teaser trailer for the second season last Sunday.
The short 15-second clip features the scenes from various fated moments in the first season, from the ballroom dance to Duke’s confession. Overall, the teaser has a very somber mood, befitting the gothic aesthetic, which has become the anime’s trademark.
The story centers around the titular Duke of death cursed to steal the life of any living thing that he touches. The first season follows him and his maid named Alice as they both try to break the curse while also indulging in some romance.
As for the second season, we can expect the drive to uncover the mystery behind evil witch Sade, who cursed the Duke, will kick into high gear. With new friends at their side, the duo of a Noble and his maid is sure to take us on a fascinating tale full of magic and curses.

The Duke of Death and His Maid is a 2017 supernatural manga by Koharu Inoue. The manga was serialized on Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry website and finished its run in May 2022.
The story revolves around a young duke named Bocchan who was cursed by a witch in his childhood. His curse can kill anything he touches, making him completely isolated from his loved ones to save their lives. He lives in a mansion on his own but is accompanied by his maid and butler.
He has quite the relationship with his maid Alice and the two grow closer throughout the story.
