The popular isekai anime “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” or “TenSura” has been one of the most anticipated animes of the year. Fans had been eagerly waiting for the show’s return. And it looks like the wait is finally over!
The anime is about Satoru Mikami and his adventures as a slime in another world. After an ordinary life in the real world, Satoru decides to lead a nation of strange creatures in the mysterious land.
The official website of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” announced that Season 2 of the anime would return with cour two on July 6.
Initially scheduled to premiere in April, the second cour was pushed back to July due to Japan’s state of emergency. Now with the fourth state of emergency effective till the end of May, the production team can quickly complete the remaining work.
A promotional video of cour 2 of the second season of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” was also released on YouTube.
The trailer contains the new opening theme of the anime- MindaRyn’s “Like Flames.” The ending theme of the anime is “Reincarnate” by Takuma Terashima.
While the cast and crew from the earlier cour will reprise their roles, the production house, Eight Bit Studios, has announced the inclusion of Akira Ishida. He will play the role of Guy Crimson.
A spin-off anime series “The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” had premiered back in April. The original anime’s second season will return just after the conclusion of the spin-off.
Based on Fuse’s original novel series and the ongoing light novel series, TenSura has been well received by fans worldwide. Several spin-off mangas have also been published after the success of the franchise.
What is in store for the fans in cour 2 of this season? How will Satoru deal with the more powerful enemies as the monsters will stop at nothing to decimate his nation? We will find out on July 6!
About That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime
That Time I Got Reincarnated as Slime is a Japanese manga series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah. It was serialized online in 2013 but was later shifted to Micro Magazine as a light novel in 2014. It currently has 21 volumes.
The story of Tensei Shitara Slime follows the journey of Satoru Mikami after he died and reincarnated as a slime in fantasy land. A slime is a creature that reproduces the form and powers of anything that it absorbs or eats.
Satoru starts eating all the magical herbs and crystals in the cave he woke up in and stumbles upon a dragon who had been captured and couldn’t move due to a barrier. Since both of them had nothing else to do, they befriend each other. The dragon accidentally makes Satoru a named monster, and Satoru promises him that he’d find a way to break the barrier. Hence, an unknown journey begins with this unusual friendship.
