Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale Manga Ending Soon

The plot and the whole premise of Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale manga is remarkably unique and entirely believable in a futuristic sense.

In 2026, two years since the SAO incident, a new game called “Oridinal Scale,” an Augmented-Reality MMO, is becoming popular among the players. With the introduction of this new game in the 5th volume, the manga is about to end soon.

Book distributor Nippan’s Hon no Hikidashi website is listing the fifth volume of Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale manga as the final volume. The final volume will ship in Japan on April 27.

Sword Art Online is a virtual reality MMO game that people connect to through a VR headset known as Nervegear. The Nerve Gear is connected to your head from where it detects every nerve in your body and paralyzes it so you can gain control of it in the game.

The new game, Ordinal Scale, is causing a lot of strange things to happen in the game, and Kirito and the gang are expected to face a new set of dangers in the upcoming chapters.

Sword Art Online – Ordinal Scale is a manga adaptation of the Ordinal Scale movie. This ongoing manga is illustrated by IsII and was initially published directly to standalone manga volume (tankoubon) format, until it became serialized on Comic Walker, Kadokawa’s free online manga service, on May 1, 2018, starting with its ninth chapter.

Protagonist Kirito, who is a pro gamer and was present for the beta launch of SAO, starts planning to clear levels as soon as possible. Throughout his quest to finish the game, he meets many friends and also a love interest, Asuna.
