1. Episode 17 Title & Release Date
Episode 17 of the Sword Art Online III Season 3 anime, titled “Prince of Hell,” will be released on Saturday, August 08, 2020.
In the next episode, PoH will humiliate a still catatonic Kirito, and Higa is caught in a crisis trying to restore Kirito’s Fluctlight!

No, episode 17 of the Sword Art Online III Season 3 anime will be released as per its schedule; thus, no such delay is announced.
The anime comes out weekly every Saturday.
2. Episode 17 Preview & Speculation
The preview for the next Episode 17, titled “Prince of Hell,” was not shown at the end of episode 16.
But we will see Miller and Shinon go against each other after resurrecting back in the Underworld under his Subtilizer character.
Alice will travel south to reach the World’s End Alter, and Higa has to restore Kirito’s Fluctlight but is facing a crisis of possibly losing his life after Yanai makes up his mind to murder Higa, so he can get revenge on Kirito for killing Admi.
Leafa and Lilpilin continue their fight in the North against Americans.
In the next episode, Asuna and her friends will be humiliated by PoH and his army after surrendering to stop the unnecessary slaughter!
But Moonphase finally understood the Japanese players’ plea and could turn the tables.
However, PoH will show off his power in front of Kirito, who hasn’t recovered yet, leaving Asuna and all their friends in despair. The mysterious Prince of Hell will make an appearance.
3. Recap of Episode 16
I. Close call Shinon
Episode 16, titled “Code 871,” begins with Yanai threatening Higa at gunpoint to stop him from restoring Kirito’s Fluctlight.
He takes this action under the orders of Mr. Sugou; he was also the one leaking information about project Alicization to the Americans after Higa drops his laptop, Yanai fires!
At the Dark Territory Rocky Mountain, Subtilizer recognizes Shinon from GGO, unable to fight him off; Subtilizer tries to steal Shinon’s soul.
Still, she is saved by Kirito’s locket and summons Hecate to fight against Subtilizer!
II. Leafa enters the battle!
At the Southern Ruins, Asuna battles the Chinese and Korean army and pleads for help because her side was heavily outnumbered.
Sakuya gets stabbed while trying to save Rue.
Moonphase hears Siune confronting the military about being deceived into killing the Japanese players and the game originating from the Japanese server being hacked by the Americans.
Mei backups Moonphase telling the game seemed off to her. PoH finds them in the middle of the discussion and sways the army into thinking Japanese players are the hackers.
When Siune tries to argue about converting their main characters on a test server, she gets attacked.
III. Kirito faces PoH
At the Northern Chasm, when Sheyta and Iskahn lose hope for surviving, Leafa jumps in and fights off the American army bringing Lilpilin and his comrades to help!
At the ocean turtle, Higa’s assistants discover an artificial Fluctlight breaking its limits and get curious about the new Code 871, which spells out Yanai.
They finally realize he is a traitor, but we are taken back to after Yanai shoots Higa’s shoulder.
After hearing Yanai, Higa figures out Yanai corrupted the Underworld, driven by his delusions of the character Admi!
PoH makes Asuna and her group surrender and reveals he was the one to assassinate her Assault team in SAO. He makes them bring out Kirito to have a chat with him.
