The anime film, A Whisker Away, is getting a manga adaptation and the first compiled volume is slated to release on June 10th. The manga is being drawn by Kyōsuke Kuromaru, and it debuted on Kadokawa’s Comic Newtype website on May 14th, Thursday.
A Whisker Away (Nakitai Watashi wa Neko o Kaburu) is the second feature-length anime film by Studio Colorado (the first one being Penguin Highway, released in 2018).
The film is supposed to release in theatres on June 5th in Japan but is postponed because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Thankfully, Netflix partnered with the studio and rescued the film. It will debut worldwide on June 18th.

The story is about finding one’s true self, and it is set in Tokoname, Aichi.
The film’s script is written by Mari Okada and is being co-directed by Junichi Sato and Tomotaka Shibayama.
The theme song “Hana ni Bōrei” (A Ghost for a Flower) was performed by Yorushika.

About A Whisker Away
This original film revolves around Miyo “Muge” Sasaki, a bizarre second-year junior high student who is desperately in love with Kento Hinode, her classmate.
Despite her best efforts, Kento seems to take no notice of her, so she decides to kick things up a notch. Muge discovers a magic mask that allows her to transform into a cat named Tarō.
The magic lets Muge get close to Hinode, but soon, the borders between her life as a cat and as a human begin to fade.
