OP Receives Song of the Year Award

Demon Slayer songs have become the new ‘Sasageyo Sasageyo’ as everyone, otaku and non-otakus, have at least one of its tracks on their playlist.

The artist LiSA’s song, ‘Akeboshi’ for Demon Slayer: Mugen Train anime series, became one of the Songs of the Year at the 63rd Japan Record Awards.

Many other artists shared the title with the Demon Slayer singer, including Da-iCE’s CITRUS, AKB48’s Ne mo Ha mo Rumor, and more.

The Special Lifetime Award was given to the late Makoto Kawaguchi, the late Asei Kobayashi, and the late Koichi Sugiyama for their various achievements and contributions

The Asian music industry has flourished ever since the world was introduced to anime and K-pop. J-pop and K-pop genres paved the way for even more underrated artists to go global.

Anime openings have always been unskippable, be it AOT’s Sasageyo Sasageyo, Naruto’s Blue Bird, or Tokyo Ghoul’s Unravel.
