The third state of emergency was set to end on May 11. The recent upsurge in the infections has worried the officials.
According to the Japanese authorities, a fourth state of emergency may be declared by Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga pretty soon.
This state of emergency may last till the end of July. And it is quite possible that the Olympics could be postponed again.
The entertainment industry will suffer a lot as people won't be allowed in theatres, clubs, etc.
This is a significant blow to the films like Kakegurui that were set to release after the end of the third emergency.
