Chapter 317 features Deku seemingly making easy work of an assassin sent by All for One.
It is pretty clear now that Deku is on par with some of the top heroes. He even claims to be on the same level as All Might at his hundred percent.
It is very clear that All Might sees the parallel in Deku, and now probably understands the feelings of those around him when he was at the top.
Deku seems to be able to carry his own weight while helping others around him.
Narratively speaking, this is the perfect opportunity for the author to kill off his mentor, All Might.
The emotional turmoil and the sense of revenge instilled by this will make Deku more of a monster than he is now.
