AMD starts having a flashback to when he was small. Where he met Asta’s mom, who took care of him like a son.
She even named him Ribe. But had to seal him in the five-leaf clover grimoire to save him. Thus technically, Ribe is Asta’s elder step-brother.
Asta’s mom, Lichita, had the power of absorbing mana from her surroundings & store it within her. Lichita had the same powers as Henry Legolant.
She could also store something that didn't have mana into something else & pull it out when necessary. Asta could be manaless due to this.
Lichita was the only one who was kind to Ribe, & her death came as a shock to him. Thus, his goal is to kill all devils, even if he has to take away Asta’s body.
