The official website for “Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle” franchise released a new PV before the TV anime begins on October 5. The video gives us a glimpse of the anime’s opening theme song, “Kaimin! Anmin! Syalist Seikatsu” by Inori Minase as her character.
Kumanomata launched the ongoing manga in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in May 2016. The 14th volume was shipped in Japan on April 16.

The manga’s popularity made us anticipate this anime adaptation more than ever. We hope that it turns out as good as the manga it!
The story follows Princess Syalis, who decides to while away the hours by sleeping, but getting a good night’s rest turns out to be a lot of work! She begins by fashioning a DIY pillow out of her Teddy Demon guards’ fur and an “air mattress” from the magical Shield of the Wind.
The princess’s hapless demonic guards soon discover that their captive expects to be treated like, well, a princess. Things go from bad to worse—for her captors—when Princess Syalis’s schemes end in her untimely—if temporary—demise. She chooses the Forbidden Grimoire for her bedtime reading.
The PV release has already made us eager to watch this whole series in one go. The beautiful composition and the fantastic vocals are simply stunning. The character expressions throughout the PV definitely made us want more!
Certainly, we are placing this title under our highly anticipated list.
Mitsue Yamazaki has directed the series at Doga Kobo studio. Yoshiko Nakamura was in charge of the series scripts. Ai Kikuchi designed the characters and Sumie Noro was the assistant director.
ORESAMA, a two-member disco-pop group, will perform the anime’s ending theme song “Gimmme!” The single will hit stores in Japan on October 14.
The anime will premiere on TV Tokyo on October 5, on AT-X on October 6, and BS TV Tokyo on October 7. It will begin streaming on U-NEXT on October 5.
