The B.League is a professional men’s basketball league that is held in Japan. A Slam Dunk “Scholarship Special” movie will be aired at the B.League Final that will be held on 30th May.

This is not the upcoming Slam Dunk movie that was previously announced in January. This is just a movie that will serve the purpose of the scholarship.

You might not be familiar with the Slam Dunk Scholarship, so let me explain quickly. Takehiko Inou organized Slam Dunk Scholarship in 2006 to help Japanese students who wanted to pursue the sport.

His goal was to popularize basketball. Winners of the program receive a one-year basketball and academic scholarship to study at the South Kent School in Connecticut.

The 14th Slam Dunk Scholarship was canceled due to the ongoing pandemic, and the 15th selection will be held soon.

The upcoming special movie might be a motivational message for current and future players. However, the news is making every otaku happy since something is better than nothing.

We hope that foreign fans can also get access to the special movie and enjoy the spirit of basketball together!
