Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Will Release 3 New Manga Early 2020

It’s new year time and the time to celebrate the arrival of 2020 and a whole new decade! 2020 has been a year of surprises so far, and there are a lot of shows and manga scheduled for 2020.

End of last month belonged to the biggest event of the year for Shonen Jump, and Shueisha series. Jump Festa 2020 and the event saw the announcement of many new and returning manga series.

Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is having its sixth and seventh issue combined for the start of the new year. They revealed on their website on Saturday that Yoshifumi Totsuka, Hajime Kōmoto, and Asahi Sakano will all launch new manga series in the magazine in early 2020.

Viz Media unveiled a complete list of manga releases for early 2020, and it includes titles such as:

Although this week’s issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump will have some missing links as well. Such as the latest chapter of Dr. Stone, whose 135th chapter was supposed to be released with this. Instead of a new chapter, the issue came with a full-page announcement informing readers of the illustrator, Boichi’s illness which prevented him from drawing the chapter. Although he is getting better and Dr. Stone will return to Weekly Shonen Jump in its 8th issue on January 20, 2020.

Jump Festa is an annual event in Japan based on basically manga and anime, sponsored by Shueisha. It is the publisher of the various Jump anthologies which are Weekly Shōnen Jump, Jump Square, V Jump, Saikyō Jump and Shōnen Jump+. The event was first started in 1999 and is held for two days in December with over 100,000 people attending every year. New manga, anime, films, games, and merchandise are introduced during this event.
