Shaman King Reboot Scheduled for 2021, Returning After 19 Years

Shaman King debuted in the Weekly Shonen Jump in 1998 and abruptly ended in 2004. It finally received its true ending in 2009 after being reprinted. A new anime adaptation has been announced for 2021. Will this reboot be its redemption?

A promotional video for the reboot was released. The announcement, along with the promotional video, has generated a strong response from its fan base. Fans are expecting something similar to what happened with Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

The official Twitter account for Shaman king has announced a 2021 reboot for the series. It will feature all 35 volumes of Hiroyuki Takei’s manga.

In April 2021, we decided to make a completely new TV animation!

The story of the main character of the motto, Asakuraha, who is the shaman who connects this world and this world, aims to become King Sherman King who controls all things.

Kondasha has announced that it will start publishing the new complete edition of the manga from June 17th, 2020. Fans in Japan can catch the adaptation from 2001-2002 on Full Anime TV and Bonbon TV services.

Shaman King Storyline

It introduces us to a world of shamans. These Shamans are powerful beings who can see and communicate with spirits, ghosts, and gods. Once in 500 years, a prestigious tournament called The Shaman Fight is organized, and the winner gets to shape the world in his image with the aid of the great spirits.

The story revolves around Manta Oyamada, who has a chance encounter with You Asakura that completely changes his life. You aims to become the Shaman King, aided by Manta and his 600-year-old samurai friend Amidamaru. They set out to fulfill You’s dream.

Shaman King is a manga written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Takei. It began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump from June 30th, 1998. The series received an abrupt end on August 30th, 2004, leaving fans disappointed. The manga received a reprint in 2009 to give its fans the true ending to the series. It also received an adaptation by studio Xebec in 2001 that was directed by Seiji Mizushima.
