Reincarnated as a sword is a Japanese light novel series belonging to the Isekai genre. The series has published 9 volumes so far, with 5 of them available in English.
A spinoff of the main story, titled “Reincarnated as a Sword: Another Wish”, was launched in the 48th issue of Micro Magazine’s Comic Ride web manga magazine by Hinako Inoue on Monday.
The spinoff’s story takes the duo of Fran and her “Teacher” to a Phantom Cave that appears once every three years. In the core of the dungeon, they find a bell floating in mid-air.
They smash the bell, which envelopes them in a strange light. The next thing they know is that they’ve been transported to an unfamiliar place and the world seems eerily different.
Yuu Tanaka released a manga adaptation of the light novel series in Comic Boost. It is illustrated by Tomowo Maruyama and has released 6 compiled volumes so far.
About Reincarnated as a Sword
Reincarnated, as a Sword, also known as TenKen, is a Japanese light novel series written by Yuu Tanaka and illustrated by Llo. It started as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in October 2015.
The plot revolves around a person who finds himself in another world reincarnated as a sword after dying in the human world. He has no recollection of his name, but weirdly remembers everything else from his life as a human. Letting things go, and accepting his fate, he looks for someone who can own him.
He is discovered by a catgirl slave, named Fran, who was a part of a slave trader caravan recently attacked by a two-headed bear. Fran uses the sword to kill the bear and gives it the name “Teacher“. The duo then embarks on an adventure.
